Something wrong about Affliction?

I was new to this game, like, just bought it last week. During my last game, my military units just fought through a group of bandits and some fishpeople raiders in a row. They won and survived, but everyone of them got bad afflictions on them. So I saved the game and hope I could get some potions before more hostiles came. But today when I load the game again, the afflictions are all gone! Their memory says they are hurt recently, but the afflictions indicator shows nothing at all. Is it a bug during the save/load progress? Is the afflictions simply wiped away during the progress, or they are still there, just somehow not shown on the UI?

Known bug. You should see their health bars capped at the Affliction level if they get into another scrap.

Get a barbershop built and crewed and they'll sort through the casualties, if something else doesn't sign them off first...

So the affliction was cured at....barbershop. That was a surprise...I was working on my chemistry currently and hoping that some potions might help...

Well, thanks for let me know that!

    Hang on, I'm confused. So:

    a) is there a bug here? or
    b) is the barbershop working as intended (ish)?

Afflictions don't show in the UI after loading, but otherwise seem to behave correctly.

The bug is afflictions don't show in the UI after loading, and the barbershop...I suppose it works, I'm just surprised that a barber was even capable of curing afflictions. I'm a Chinese and chinese barbers didn't do that in the whole history...perhaps I just don't know the western history enough.

Admittedly, everything is the developers' whim.

Ohhh! Thanks alot for this information. This is actually something that I should know. I'm also an indie gamer, this knowledge might be useful in the future!

In ancient China, surgery is performed by herbalists. Didn't even think that it could be a part of barber's job before.:p
