According to the wiki both life steal and corpse drain should go up with magic power, but ive been doing 3 corpse drains since level 1 and im now lvl 9 with 22 MP. What gives with that?
I'm not sure what the question is. Do you mean you heal for 3 health with each corpse drain? Wouldn't it be impossible to heal from corpses when you're level 1?
A figure of speech i picked corpse drain at level 2 and according to wiki, the formula is ( 3 + 0.15 )., but i only ever drain 3 health, despite my MP. I am also certain that the blood sucker skill also doesnt scale
Technically that is magic power, which isn't directly mp as far as I know... to be honest it should be totally unrelated, that would be how hard your spells hit. Now the formula on the wiki says that corpse drain has that formula, also you have to consider that you need a fairly high magic power number to see huge effects.Unless I botched my math having like...5 magic power would be a 0.75 heal increase(which I guess is rounded down to 3, not sure how it's done but could be an explanation) that seems realistic at lvl 2 considering your sagacity and magic power, which shouldn't be much higher, I never checked the first few levels and I can't now but I don't think it's that higher at the beginning than that, so this could explain. I'll edit later if no one answers to check more and be sure but I guess the main thing is that you don't need to consider mp but magic power(I imagine you refer to mp as magic points, your mana basically, if that's not the case disregard everything, something might indeed be wrong xD)
Im so grateful that at the end of the post you FINALLY caught on that i might be using MP for magic power. Granted its normally used for mana points, but the context was screaming "Magic power. DUH!" So, yes. with magic power in the twenties, i still only get the default 3 points from drained corpses, despite the formula. And i gotta, tell ya, slapping a flat value means it quickly gets underpowered
Well I'm kinda half asleep since I had heavy training today so yeah I kinda realized waaay late, but still considering low levels(which you also talked about) like 1-4 my calculations and reasoning still makes sense. At lvl 1-2 with 5 MP you'd have a 0.75 increase and that won't be noticeable. Now considering lvl 9 and 22 mp should be atleast double the effect, so I guess, if you don't see a +6 heal you should make a bug report probably.I can't still check myself, but I guess if it's confirmed with noticeable amounts of magic power you should report it as a bug.Though I'd probably wait 1.0.8 which is coming soon to be sure it isn't already fixed =P I also thought I wanted to make sure you weren't referring to the wrong statistic since commonly I see mp not as magic power, you know, not pointing at you at all mind it, but a lot of people might get it wrong just by the fact DoD has a huge number of stats and formulas behind it so yeah...I got it hafl wrong atleast
This is happening to my current character too actually. The wiki forumula shows for the first level in the skill (vampirism attack): " ( 2 + 0.14 ) and healing the character for (damage done by this skill + 1)" 15 points into the magic power should give 2+(.14*15)+1 = 5.1 Unfortunately, I'm still only getting 1 hp on most hits with an occasional 3 randomly. Gonna put this into the bug forum.
That one though could be reduced by monster piercing resistance, surely it might still be bugged if it *never* goes beyond the damage+1, again, I'd wait for 1.0.8 which is coming these days and report it again if it doesn't work °_°
