I have been playing this game every day since I got it from the Humble Indie Bundle, and I am in absolute love with it. I have played for 33 hours how, and after playing most of those hours getting used to the game and dying (and rage/laughing because of permadeath), I beat Dredmor this morning (didn't sleep!) on Elvishly Easy without Permadeath. (I know, I'm a pansy)! My first build was honestly awful, and it was just a bunch of skills I mashed together despite not knowing anything about anything. I didn't last long. I made a Clockwork Dual Axe build (which was a blast), and a build with all the weird skills, but the one that caught me was my Super Dual Staff Alcoholic Fireball: Staves Dual Wielding Promethean Magic Alchemy Astrology Magic Training Archaeology I love the synergy in this build, the blasting things with fireballs, the unlimited booze (via Fruitful Staff), plus awesome enchantments via Archaeology. I love my Rainbow Flavored Fruit Staff of Vampirism! Not to mention this: So, after eating my fill of fruit and booze, I incinerated a monster zoo and got this gem: And so I decided to go insane and rampage though the last three levels in search of Dredmor. And find him, I did. And killed him I did, with a Holy Hand Grenade. Let me just say, I am VERY excited for the update!
3710 rounds of food healing? WHAT KIND OF SORCERY IS THIS! (no, really, what's so special about the fruitful staff? I haven't made one yet)
When you kill something with the Fruitful Staff, it drops a random piece of fruit. So I ate fruit. A lot of it. I would hate to press the "Digest" button... *shudder*
I actually discovered this on my own before I read all those guides. When I saw that my prey were dropping fruit left and right, the first thing that came to my mind was "INFINITE HP", but I remembered I had Alchemy so I thought, "INFINITE BOOZE!!!" I promptly climbed back up to the first floor and spammed the space button a whole bunch of times.
