Hello all! I joined the forums just so I could express my love of this game, and so I can start a thread to alleviate my anxiety as I wait for the patch/dlc... GAWD I LOVE THIS GAME!! I started playing roguelikes a year ago when I discovered an angband app for my phone. Needless to say I haven't slept since then, and was eager to try DoD when my brother told me about it. I finallly purchased it from steams black Friday sale along with Stalker Clear Sky and Star Wars Dark forces 2. Guess which one I'm still playing every day! Ever since the download finished, I've been swept away in a torrent of diggles, 'self harm' jokes, and even allusions to Garrison Keillor (hope that's spelled correctly) I now find myself waiting impatiently for the sky to open up, and to see Krongs mighty arm bestow upon us his smelters most glorious outpouring! So yeah... keep up the good work guys and good luck on the dlc!
Whoa, Angband on your phone? Why didn't I think of that... *downloads* Yeah. I can't wait for the DLC. It shall be promptly bought. I can't wait to be a werediggle, after all. >_>
I hope there will be even more H.P. Lovecraft references. This game inspired me to finally dig in to Lovecraft's stories, and once you've read them you stop feeling guilty for laughing at Cthulhu jokes. I also recall there being piracy and emomancy skills. If so, then this will most assuredly rock my proverbial socks.
I'm guessing it will have a slitting ability wherein you take damage and receive a buff or do a strong attack/debuff on your enemy.
Yeah, I know the feeling. Gaslamp games is on my constant rotation of game development sites that I check on a daily basis. I can't wait to try some of the new content.
Emomancy doesn't actually have a slit wrist just saying. The tree is amazing but there isn't any self-harm.
No slit wrist skill? Now how will I show the darkness in me to Dredmor and his army? Oh well, I suppose I'll have to resort to reading some of my poetry about how bleak and unfulfilling life is.
I was searching for cell phone rpgs that weren't casual BS ,and found something that was the polar opposite of casual. I did not sleep that night nor did I slumber for many nights to come.
If you still have the link or the website you got it from, I'd put up a poster on my wall with your profile pic on it. EDIT: Huh, the bundle version has the female character and similar swag, yet the steam version doesn't. Must a beta still...
Well, on an Android, just go to the market place and search for Angband. It takes a bit of finagling, switching between the number pad, alpha, and caret entries, but it's not that bad. Still really fun.
