My problem is the same as described in this thread: http://community.gaslampgames.com/threads/cannot-choose-difficulty-settings-and-other-settings.1798/ The game loads and plays fine, but I am unable to click/select a Difficulty level, nor am I able to click off the PermaDeath option. The mouse is unresponsive on the Difficulty Selection screen, but, the mouse works perfectly fine during gameplay. I didn't have any problems downloading or installing the game either. As the thread that I referenced above is a few weeks old, has anyone ever solved this issue or have any idea why it occurs? Thanks.
Are you also Korean, like all the other persons? if so, it sounds like the only workaround is installing an English windows.
No, I am in the USA, and just purchased the game yesterday. It's quite an odd problem, because it's almost as if the interface isn't "seeing" the mouse activity/cursor at all, but on other interface screens, it works just fine. Thanks for your reply!
Still having this issue; version is the latest, as far as I know: 1.09 rev B Thoughts? Ridicule? Anything? As an aside, is it okay to uninstall the game and then re-install it through the Steam client? I have never used Steam before; signed up with Steam in order to purchase DoD. Thanks again.
Yes, it's alright to uninstall and reinstall anytime you want but I don't think it will fix it. I reported this to Nicholas and he said "I'm on it" but I honestly can't say As far as I know before you we thought the problem was with Korean Windows but it doesn't seem to be the case. Sorry it's happening, though.
Thank you for replying; I appreciate it! I'll check back now and again to see if there's any news. Also, to clarify precisely what is happening: When I select the "New Game" option, the next screen correctly shown is the "Select Difficulty" screen. That screen appears for a moment or two, but before I can click on anything, the screen 'blinks' forward to the next screen, the "Skill Selection" screen. Clicking on the Back button jumps back to the "Select Difficulty" screen as normal, but again, the mouse is unresponsive (as is the interface arrow cursor itself), and random Difficulty settings can be seen as selected with the little red X's. The screen then jumps forward to the Skill Selection screen again, ignoring my feeble attempts to actually change any of the Difficult Settings. Spamming the ESC key will repeatedly jump back to the Difficulty screen, and sometimes push all the way back to the Title Screen (New Game, Load Game, etc). Thanks again!
