    Hello there,

I've bought DoD on STEAM, it seemed to work fine up until yesterday(Well, I haven't played for two weeks or so).

Whenever I start DoD on STEAM, it says 'Preparing to launch Dungeons of Dremor...'. When the dialog screen closes, my computer's cursor changes into that of a 'loading' one(Indicating that the game is loading). A couple of seconds later, it returns to the 'idle' cursor and DoD does not load. No error is produced.

Inspecting the Task Manager process list tells me that the Dungeons of Dredmor.exe process does run for a couple of seconds, before closing. Both xFire and STEAM indicate that I'm playing Dungeons of Dredmor for a couple of seconds before going back to the non-gaming state. STEAM indicates that I've played the game today.

I've tried restarting STEAM, restarting my PC, deleting the game, deleting clientRegistry.blob and even reinstalling my graphics drivers(They commonly seem to be a cause of my problems, apparently not this time). I've googled and found nothing regarding this issue.

I have no idea why it used to work, but doesn't work anymore.

    Help me! D;

I'm trying to think of something to suggest, but since you've reinstalled the game on top of everything else... :/ I have no idea. Sorry it's happening, maybe somebody else can think of something. Verify file intergrity I guess, even if you've reinstalled? Who knows.

    ... biz-arre.

the only thing I can think of: delete the contents (actually, back them up for analysis in case this *does* fix the issue!) of your Gaslamp Games folder in My Documents\ and see what happens.

  4. Another thing you can try is bypassing Steam.

Shut down Steam. Make sure Steam is not running in the Processes tab of Windows Task Manager.

Go to your DoD .exe and double click it. Do not launch DoD from any Steam created shortcut.
Mine is located here: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\dungeons of dredmor\dungeons of dredmor.exe". Windows 7x64.

If DoD works, it is a Steam issue.
Right click on the .exe, choose "send to" and choose "Desktop (create shortcut).

I had this exact problem with the Q.U.B.E. Demo. I don't remember the fix, but I'll try to look it up and post again if it may apply here.

Ok... here was the Q.U.B.E. fix that worked for some and myself.
They had to reinstall/update MS .Net Framework 4 and C++ Visual 2010 Redistributional.

I have no idea if DoD needs either of those.

    Hope this helps.

Thank you! That did fix the issue.

Included are the backed up save files for analysis:

    Once again, thank you!
