I've noticed that after, say, level 2 or 3 that Diggle Eggs seem to cease to exist. I'm down to maybe level 7 or 8 (if not further, I've forgotten) and there's no eggs to be found which means I can't make the cheese omelette food. I'm carrying around, no word of a lie, around 150 grated cheese right now (if not more) and I'm really beginning to lose hope.

I know the floors are randomised and so on, but am I really out of luck now? :(

I don't think levels 4-6 have diggle nests, presumably because they have no native diggle species other than the Diggle Commando (whose army life leaves no time for a family). Admittedly, this doesn't explain why level 7 sometimes has nesting sites IIRC.

Pretty sure I haven't found a diggle egg after level 4 (up to my farthest which is 11).
At times I kinda wish this was like other rogue likes where enemies occasionally dropped items. Might not work for the balance here, but diggles occasionally dropping eggs would be kind of cool.

Well, it's possible to get diggle eggs later, but they get rarer over time so you have to get lucky. But over the time I played, I found out that most levels can have diggle eggs.

Sometimes they spawn in vending machines and stores. But they are very rare after the first few levels.

    Unless you're a werediggle.

    1. Become Werediggle.
    2. Lay Diggle eggs.
    3. Hide around dungeon.
    4. Forget such eggs exist.
    5. Return to dungeon.

Drat, I was worried you'd say that. Thanks to everyone, though!
