Upon opening the chest, Hort falls backwards from the scent. "Wheeeeeeeeew that's nasty. If we are going to feed it then I'm not going to be the one to touch it. My hands would be stained for days with that stench."
Danton pulls back from the doorway, hoping the statue won't hear him. "Feed it the cursed fish if you like, I'll have no part of it. I still think we should crush the statue."
Berz nods solemnly. "I say we got Ace for a reason, and we listen to him." And Berz whips out his sun sword. "Don't wanna hurt my cutter on that rock, but this thing should do the trick. Anyone wanna try to talk me down before I turn this ugly shrine into some beautiful pebbles?"
The entire area is now bright as noon in the desert. It is almost blinding because you have spent so much time underground. (I am suddenly reminded that you have no idea of this rooms shape or size.) The room is 45' north/south, 35' east/west. The door you entered by is in the southeast corner, set into the south wall. 15' along the south wall there is a portcullis, and there is an archway about 10' north on the east wall. There is a door opposite the archway on the west wall, and a door opposite the portcullis on the north wall. The statue and chest are on the north wall between the door and the east wall.
Torma looks surprised " You barely survived last encounter but you're ready to desecrate a God's altar ? Rantic, what's your advice ?" He turns back to the statue " So the one who feeds you gets a reward, its as simple as that ? There's no other price ?" ( sense motive+1 on answer) What is the source of the light ?
(The light source is the sword in Berz's hand. It burst with light as soon as it was drawn. It seemed very truthful.)
" Well you know what ? I dont feel like giving any chances to the bastards who massacred my team, and if the price is my soul, so be it. It's not worth much in the first place." Torma picks up a piece of fish and starts feeding the statue.
Hort backs away from the chest to get away from the smell, only to be knocked onto the ground again by the sudden burst of light. "How many more of my five senses will be tortured?
"Sorry. I thought the term "sun sword" was kind of, you know, metaphorical." Berz shields his eyes. "So...then...uh...no breaky?" Berz looks grumpy, but (following Torma's lead) turns to Rantic for a final opinion.
Berz looks around, confused. "Who's Eternal? And whose lies are they supposed to be discerning? Why can't Gods ever just tell it like it is. (Well, actually, that Krong dude was pretty straightforward. Maybe I should like him some.) Either way -- (shoot, I never came up with a nick for Torma, either) uhh....Strider! Strider, are you copacetic? (I love that word. I hope it means what I think it means.) (Also, asides to myself.) By which I mean, OK?"
Hort reaches in and grabs the wand. Hort waves his hands in the air at everyone "Hey guys! Check this out! It was in the statue."
"Hey guys, when did you decide to start glowing different colors?" Hort looks around the room then looks at her hands.
"Uh ? It wasn't there when I was putting the fish in... Well... Thank you Fishgod statue for your gift, would you tell us what is it exactly that you gave us ? " "Hort, maybe you should put down that thing until we figure out what it really is. And... rest your eyes a little bit, it appears the light from Berz's blade messed up with your vision."
"Let's put it in the bag." Hort does just that. "As for my vision, maybe it has something to do with the wand? There's a white aura around you Torma, A pink aura around Berz, a red aura around Rantic, and a BIG white aura around Danton."
