So, you've conquered Lord Dredmor. You've made his skull into a chalice. The thought of going rogue no longer causes you to quake in your boots. Generally, you think you're a pretty bad dude. But are you a bad enough dude to beat the Diggocalypse Now challenge? Disclaimer before we proceed: This is not intended to be actually beat. It's mostly for a laugh to see how far you can get with a extremely unfair set of handicaps. Diggocalypse Now comes in three flavors. Diggocalypse Now, Diggocalypse How?, and Eternium Man Diggocalypse Now Difficulty: 10/10 You must play on Going Rogue with permadeath enabled. You may pick seven skills as normal. You must always sell all of your items every time you come across a shop. You may not buy items. You may not pick up any items that have touched the floor. Smashed chests count as touching the floor. You must step on every satanic displacement plate you find at least once. You must take every down-stairs you find. This overrides the previous rule, if the two should happen to conflict. Diggocalypse How? Difficulty: 11/10 You must play on Going Rogue with permadeath enabled. You may pick seven skills as normal. You may not buy items. You may not pick up any items that have touched the floor. Smashed chests count as touching the floor. You must step on every satanic displacement plate you find at least once. You must take every down-stairs you find. This overrides the previous rule, if the two should happen to conflict. You must enrage every shopkeeper you find. You are allowed to take one item he has on display. You must kill every single monster you find. Stairs rule overrides this one. You must accept every single sidequest you can. You do not have to finish them all, merely accept them. Eternium Man Difficulty: N/A You must play on Going Rogue with permadeath enabled. You must press the random skill button, and you must go with the first random set of skills you obtain. You may not buy items. You may not pick up any items. You must drop all of the items in your start inventory. You must drop all items you are equipped with. You must step on every satanic displacement plate you find at least once. You must take every down-stairs you find. This overrides the previous rule, if the two should happen to conflict. You must enrage every shopkeeper you find. You must proceed to throw away the item you picked up. You must kill every single monster you find. Stairs rule overrides this one. You must accept every single sidequest you can. You do not have to finish them all, merely accept them. So yeah. Good luck! I managed to kill three battys and a diggle before failing eternium man.
But we can at least post the score the character did with the challenge. Is it non mod skills or any skills ?
Quests, zoos, crafting, anvils, tables, nests, etc. Theoretically, if you can kill Brax, stealing items from him doesn't count as taking items from the floor, but it's a pretty ballsy and risky move. This challenge was designed to be done without mod skills, but unless they're horribly, horribly game breaking or otherwise circumvent aspects of the challenge -such as a skill that granted items for free, or massive passive bonuses-, I don't see why mods wouldn't be bad. Just specific if you did a modded run or not.
