Dredmor Patch 1.0.10 RC9 Feedback Thread - I Believe in The Lever Fix

    Grim Peeper: Sadly, this is by design. I don't tend to worry about maintaining save game compatibility between RCs, only between major versions. So, ironically, 1.0.9 works, but 1.0.10 RC7 won't.

    Well, not getting fixed for 1.0.10 at any rate, but still - good to know.

    Okay, I'll go see if I can get the game to crash with a save game name that is in Sumerian. :)

    Okay, this is weird, I started a new game, as an Archer/Tinkerer, and it granted me 4 tinkerer parts right off the bat. And 3 of the Aqua whatever red potion of acid, and the other acidic potion.
    I think this game wants me to kill myself. :(

    Don't have time to test tonight, but I just wanted to again express my admiration and appreciation for Gaslamp's thoroughness and transparency. It is really refreshing.

    I've encountered Dragon Breath slowdown as early as lvl 1, so probably it's not only Gog's. I'll try to narrow down suspects today.

    The expansion wand recipes are still referencing 'Burn Out Wand' instead of the correct 'Burnt Out Wand'.

    (Also the new 'Hunter's Strike' kill proc is useless but that doesn't really matter right now)

    Nicholas, and what about 1.0.10 patch for Linux version? I have troubles with crashing on loading save game. Is this already fixed?
     
  8. not sure if this is new to 1.0.10, but moving with the arrow keys while spamming space makes multiple turns go by with each step you take.
     
  9. Oh, and the names of abilities that activate when the player is hit aren't fixed to the character, so I get hit with something and then the name of the response ability appears floating up a good space or two above and to the left of me.

    I wish I could remember precisely when that spell started slowing way down for me... It seems like it suddenly started after quitting and loading the game back up, so I'm not sure it's even tied specifically to something acquired in game.

    This is an old issue. I posted a bug about it here. It even lets you walk through monsters!

    I may have found a new bug. I came to a large room which always has 2 wall areas that can be moved with Psychokinetic Shove to reveal goodies. In 1.0.10 RC8, they no longer move. I tried the Save and Quit and then reloaded and it still wouldn't move. I just tried to Save and Quit and then Quit the game and tried to load my save. DoD crashed when I tried loading the save and even when I tried loading the AutoSave. Something somewhere got screwed up in the Save as it loaded my save when I hadn't quit the game. Not sure what caused this but if it happens to anyone else it could be a big problem. Here is an annotated screenshot that I took.

    I'm still unable to load saves from 1.0.9 (using 1.0.10 RC8)

    Wait... shove moving a wall was *supposed* to move walls? I always thought that was the bug!

    It is supposed to only when the wall is breakable. Obvious Fireball would break them too. (It should never move walls strictly speaking. It should break those capable of being broken.)

    Heh, I had no idea walls could be broken either... That explains the areas that look like I should be able to get to a goddie cache but no levers opened them.

    Well, soddit, they're working here.

    Send me the offending article? contact@gaslampgames.com please and a description of what platform it is that you're working on. It's possible that there is something mac-specific that is being broken, for instance.

    ... further to the previous update: 1.0.9 REV B saves worked; 1.0.9 saves (from without REV B) did not.

    Well, they do now. But further testing would be good. And it looks like we're at RC9, time to put this up and reset the damned counter...

    Also, 520 replies to a patch thread. :confused:

    Really looking forward to this patch; as it stands I haven't been playing any Dredmor due to the current issues with the RotDG floors (item spawning broken, etc.) and I've been chomping at the bit to take some characters thrpugh Floors 11-15 in all their deadly, adventurer-eating splendor.
