All right, I'm assuming this room's from your mod. I've been finding an inaccessible room, and I believe it's always from the same chunk; as the screenshot shows, there's a room to the left of the room I'm standing in, visible only though the fact that there's a fragment of border visible. However, I haven't been able to find a way in. None of my normal destroyable-wall-destroying spells work. Am I gonna have to come back once I get Digging Ray, or am I missing something?
Try bombs, banjo2E. If that doesn't work, then either Digging Ray or Bolts of Mass Destruction it is.
I know, but sometimes weird things can be happening, so it's better to have multiple ways of checking something.
Typical wall-lever room, game randomly spawns hidden 1x2 rooms into existing rooms. Find a lever and pull it. Usual stuff isn't too good anyways.
I can't think of any way that could be mine. Doesn't look like any of the rooms adjacent to it are mine, which would be the only way it could be an ID error. As others have said, that's most likely a little "treasure" spot with an associated lever. Sometimes the levers end up not where you'd expect, so I'd scour every nearby room for a lever. Maybe placed behind a random blocking object, or closer to a wall than normal? Have you been using anything with knockback that might have displaced the lever or put something else on top of it? From the minimap, it looks like there may be a room a little northwest of your current position that you haven't been too yet. While the levers are usually closer than that, I have sometimes seen them further away than expected. Check that room, pull any levers you find in that half of the map, and if that doesn't work, break out the digging ray / mighty auger / BMD. There _is_ a room in the default rooms.xml (not a mod) that has no doors, but my understanding is that it's a typo/bug and that rooms without doors don't spawn. I've reported it and been told it will be fixed in 1.0.10. If you do crack it open and it's anything other than a 1x2 room with a minor treasure, please post about it. I'd be curious to know what's going on if it's not just a hidden lever.
I'm going to grab Digging Ray in a few levels, I'll let you know what this room is. I'm pretty sure it's not one of those tiny lever rooms, because as far as I can tell this room's at least three blocks tall.
Well, if I run into it in my current game, I'll use my bolt of mass destruction on it. I usually get enough money to buy all of them from vending machines by the time I reach the 15th floor so I don't mind using one.
Yeah, so it turned out to be one of those tiny item rooms. Despite being three blocks high instead of two. And despite me having pulled all the levers on that floor.
I second that, it's the best shield ever. It's a shame that the road cone helmet isn't good enough to use with this.
Well, it does have a high block, but I don't know if I'd call that the best shield ever. Unless I'm missing something. Sadly, I rarely make use of a shield, due to dual-wielding maces/swords/axes/staves. It's nice to know what mod that comes from though, I did chuckle when I saw it.
It's about the concept being plain amusing and the shield itself being decent enough so that you can get through the game wielding it. Which would be even more amusing. Which is why I find it slightly sad that the thematically-matching road cone helmet is *not* decent, and thus one can't get through the game dressed like a road-build fashion reject.
You guys are going about this all wrong. I'm making my next character take Shield Bearer and Staff Mastery, and I'm gonna wield a Sesame Staff and a Power Word Octagon, and his name's gonna be Jack Black.
I wondered if that's what you meant. I wasn't sure. Next time I focus more on ranged, via an archer, I'll look out for that shield. It is nice.
Sadly, I find most of the more clever items worthless due to procs on the less clever items that make them far superior despite stats. That shield is nice if you get it early. But it needs a nice proc to be worthwhile. Otherwise I would probably stick with a Mirror Shield for the 49% or one of the proc shields or even another weapon.
You seem to be arguing that the Power Word Octagon does not have a proc. If that is indeed what you are assuming, then you are mistaken. Now I'm not saying that it's the best proc in the game or anything, but it does indeed have a proc.
