Oh look, Althea suggesting another thing. My suggestion is Blink Batties are taken down a notch. It's not that they're overpowered, it's that they're absolutely 100% irritating. If you don't time your movement just right, they hit you before you hit them, and it ends up being a wild goose chase (of course, keeping thrown/bolts around is useful). I suggest the blink chance is taken down to 50-75%, which should make them less frustrating.
you do know that you can skip a turn by hitting the spacebar, right? if there is one tile between you and the bat, hit space and you'll be able to hit it first on the next turn. Now you know the secret to beating every roguelike ever made.* *not intended to be a factual statement
Oh, I know that, it just doesn't stop them being annoying Was just thinking that dropping the chance down a little will still render them largely the same but just stop them being as annoying.
A nuisance mob, being a nuisance? Actually, that IS the secret. Choosing how and where to fight. And when. Corridors, careful use of the "wait a turn" function, properly prioritizing monsters for killing and USING items, not just hoarding them for a "bigger fight".
I know they're supposed to be annoying, I'm just saying a little drop in blink chance will make them less annoying but still largely leave them as a nuisance.
