I might be asking a lot. But is there a way you guys could add additional information to the load screen? When you create a file you have all these choices, that you really have no clue about once you create a game. Difficulty, NTTG, Expansion, and PD flags on the load screen would be great.
Oh yeah, I totally forgot mods, since I haven't messed with them to date. It would be a headache if you were using different mods for different installs.
Not sure what you mean by PD flags but as for the menu's I think they are pretty self explanatory. The mods suggestion might be helpful but the only thing I can think of that might be a problem is some of the skill descriptions don't exactly tell you what the skill does. It explains the theme of the skill over the actual usage.
By PD flags, he means Permanent Death mode. That is helpful information to me as I am constantly creating characters and sometimes have no clue if the character is PD or not. Hope this helps.
That's strange because its a selectable option before you begin the game unless there is some way to start up the game without hitting the difficulty menu. Not sure if you just mean in modding because I wouldn't know about that but as far as i can its straight forward. Although, i don't remember exactly if all of these options were listed when you try to load a previously saved game it might be useful to identify them. Especially if you name the character the same thing every time you create new.
Yeah well if you have multiple different save files and you come back from a break you don't know if your characters are easy or hard. At least with permadeath you can check to see if the save option is available, but that still requires opening the file. Other than playing a lot there is no way to tell difficulty or NTTG.
That's what I thought So really we just want more information shown about previous game saves I agree for this especially if say we name the character the same thing every time. This would come in handy for many aspects. As far as for mods though I have no Idea perhaps a tab or screen could be made to list out save details including selected mods.
That would be perfectly fine for me. I would just like to be able to come back to a previous save and and look at it and say "hmmm.... I need to restart DoD with these mods in order to play this particular save."
Why even go that far? Wouldn't it be easier to just auto load the mods upon loading a game save provided you didn't remove them?
It might be, but I think that would be even more difficult to do. What happens if a mod is deleted for some reason? Or an update to a mod removes items or rooms that are required in your save. I think just knowing the mod name and version number is plenty of info for me to do it myself and would be a quicker fix than anything else I can think of.
