One of the few things I don't like about this game is the minimap, while pretty good, is lacking some key items. Since the addition of the crafting vending machine as well as adding better items to the old ones, I find myself going back a floor or two for something I would've picked up from one of the machines if I hadn't been poor as poop from buying something from Brax or my inventory was full. Since there's no icon for the vending machines it sometimes takes longer than it should to find and can be a real inconvenience. For people who think vending machines aren't that important, I feel the same way for mysterious portals, seeing as I tend to find them quite frequently on floor 1 rather than the later ones. Finally, I believe there's no need to have a bookcase icon. Unless I'm missing something, bookcases will always give you a random recipe (or nothing at all), the same going for fountains except with buffs/ an item. That being said, I've never found a situation where I didn't examine a bookcase/fountain as soon as I found it, eliminating the purpose of it being on the minimap.
I think the monuments should be temporary icons on the map. They take up a lot of room on the smallest minimap and you only need them when quests are active.
I agree. They'd also have to work out if you've seen all the quests to a floor and none of them abide to a monument, it should disappear.
Yeah the problem with them now is if your like me and like to keep the minimap on the smallest setting then it just eats up on your view. If it was used only when you have a quest it wouldn't be a problem. As for the bookshelves well I think it would be nice if it only showed up if you entered a room missed it and left.
