Errm there is a problem with this. Scythed stuff is Diggle Gods content, not main game. So you'd need to somehow override the recipe from themain game when you have diggle gods. It would be great if this feature was in fact implemented, but I do not think it is.

Thus the need to import IS bolts into the main game.

I did try at least two or three times. No luck, I am still playing that character so I can always run up to level 1 and try it a few more times. But it seems to be welded into place.

As far as breakable walls go, I haven't noticed any problem with those in the beta. While I'm on level 1, I'll try to blast open a wall I know can be opened but I ignored because the game doesn't put anything in it yet.

EDIT: I have retried the same set of bars that were moveable before I reloaded the save and it still wont move. I tried 8 to 10 times at least and no joy. Also, I tried the breakable wall and it broke just fine. There may be something with their system or their version may have gotten borked somehow. I have since reloaded my game a few times since the first time and the wall was still breakable for me.

Okay I checked and cannot reproduce this. I save/loaded and they stay movable for me.

Well, this is odd, I know they don't work for me sometimes either.
    Gah.

And Knockback can fail? How? Because I've never not once seen it fail. Except in the cases of using it on bugged items.
Not to mention, the cooldown on Charlemagne's skill makes it not useful if Knockback from it can fail.
Although, it doesn't do anything to breakable walls.
However, sometimes, with any breakable wall based skill, for me, that's only Ragnar's Meteor, of all of the melee skills, IIRC, no matter how many times, no matter what I use, the wall will not break.
They're the main reason I save up concussion bombs. Breakable walls.
Push comes to shove, I'll use a BoMD on it.

I'll try starting a new character and see what happens. I'm pretty sure the same thing will happen to me. For testing purposes, I am on Windows XP and purchased DoD through steam. I am running the game directly from the exe though, if I don't sometimes my save games disappear on my. I am running RotDG as well as the beta.

If you can, then upload a save.

I tried a new character and couldn't get it to repeat. Something must have happened to my other save or a stray cosmic ray or something hit the bit that controlled that particular bar. I even tried quitting DoD and reloading my save and the bars I found still moved. Unless it happens to me again, I would just say to forget about it.

I did find one other minor graphics glitch. The mellow shrine has a blinking white dot on it's upper left. I am including two cropped screenshots to show what I mean. Most likely someone painted with white instead of erasing on that pixel. Very small detail but I thought I would mention it. That's all of the DoD for me tonight. I have to get some stuff done before bed. :)

I'm getting a random crash upon entering a mysterious portal with the latest rc.

The new wand recipes are definitely a step in the right direction. Many thanks.

I'm pretty sure knockback can't fail. It can be resisted(?) but otherwise it always knocks at least 1 square. Of course a monster will usually just walk that 1 square back toward you and often it all happens quick enough that the monster looks like it didn't move -- but its turn is consumed, it can't advance further or attack you.

Ah. Thank you, Tejon, I thought I was going crazy.
Now, if only objects would stop failing to be knocked back by my skills.

    Consistently?

No, it's not consistent, which is the annoying part. I can enter a mysterious portal and end up on floor 0 a good portion of the time, the rest it crashes.

    Sounds like a room error?

@delta534: Do you have RotDG installed?

(For the life of me, I can't recall if it was 1.0.9 or RotDG that introduced Mysterious Portals).

It occurs to me that there are a boat-load of DLC2 rooms that spawn on floors 11 to 15 and require RotDG. Hadn't considered them when we were talking about moving those early rooms to Expansion 1, because unless you had both expansions, you'd never end up in the floor 11+ rooms... but I now realize, you could end up in them via a mysterious portal.

    Yes, I have RotDG installed.

Well, that rules out my best guess at the cause.

Just to verify, you aren't running any mods, are you? It would be a shame if the crash were coming from something other than the DLC and we started gutting rooms to try to find it.

(I've sent Nicholas a request to move those rooms, anyway, since it's still a problem for anyone that doesn't have RotDG.)

    Most likely.

Could also be a problem with a monster, but then you'd expect we'd have people reporting consistent crashes on some late-game floor.

Probably not an item error, since they usually don't crash the game they typically just fail to spawn.

Maybe someone who's played a lot of the late-game levels of the RC could pop over to Dredmorpedia and eyeball whether or not there are any specific items or monsters they've never seen spawn? That would quickly eliminate several possibilities.

I'd do it myself if only there were a Mac build available... oops, my bad. I promised Nicholas that I'd be patient today.
