Translating the game?

First of all, hello, this is my first post here. :)
I'm French and a couple of my friends and I discovered Dungeons of Dredmor with the workshop integration. We absolutely love it but my friends have trouble figuring all the little details that make this game so funny. So I thought "well, since I can mod the game, I can surely modify the base strings".

Then I found this page which doesn't list game/text.xml as an optional file. So can I distribute a modified text.xml through the Workshop? If not, is there a convenient and legal way to do it?

    Thank you for your help!

There've been base file altering mods in the past, but I'm pretty sure they wouldn't work through the workshop since the workshop just installs to a slightly altered version of the normal mod directory, and base-file mods need to directly overwrite the actual game's files. What you could do is put up a dummy file on the workshop, and link the mod and instructions for installing it in the description.

Ok thank you, I will do that. For now I'm trying to understand why my string modification crashes the game on load...
EDIT : Nevermind, seems like the game doesn't support non-latin characters like éèàôç.
