"I've connected a series of 17 dummy spells to create a particle effect around the player that does nothing whatsoever. I then created a spell in 6 lines of XML that teleports the player, nukes everything around him, and creates a super sweet item. Seems legit."
The latter would have to be two spells. Combining a teleport with any template that targets more than one square makes you teleport to every single square in that template. Which, while amusing, is kinda sorta a complete waste of the player's time.
Regarding modding sayings, "I'm sure I did everything right. What could go wrong." <Diablo II Access Violation C000005 error message appears.> Doh! What, you didn't say they had to be all Dredmor related.
"What do you mean that doesn't work? There's totally a skill which does this. . ." "Oh, nevermind. My bad."
"Preliminary code is done. Let's see how hard it crashes." "But my code was the same as yours. How did yours work but mine didn't?"
