I had some ideas for skill mods and I was curious what everyone thought before I started scripting them: Skill Idea: Secret Robot. A mostly passive tree that exchanges the ability to eat/drink for nice procs and stats. Warrior based. Level 1: Automated Adventurer: - 2 +3 + 1 +1 "Like many adventurers in Lord Dredmor's dungeon, you happen to have no pulse" Ability: Repair: Adds Self-Repair, a brittle buff that restores 1 health per turn. Cooldown: 10 Level 2: Custom Wiring: + 2 -2 "Electrician Smechtrician, how hard can it be?" Passive: 10% chance when hit to activate Capacitor Drain, which deals lightning damage to all nearby enemies. Level 3: Overclock: +3 +2 "You are a killing machine! Literally! That is the joke!" Passive: When killing an enemy, gain Overclock (+3+3 +1 -1 ) for 10 turns. Stacks to 5 Level 4: Zen and the art of Adventurer repair: + 1 + 1 "Go ahead and take that arm, I'll just get a new one" Passive: When hit, 50% chance to proc Autorepair nanobots (2 hp / turn) brittle, stacks to 5. Level 5: Super Fighting robot: + 4 + 4 + 10 +4 + 10 + 5 -2 - 15 "Grafting giant metal plates to your torso might have accidentally tipped off Dredmor's minions that you are a robot. On the upside, you now have Giant metal plates grafted to your torso." Active: Eyebrow Lasers: Deals minor in a 6 square line AoE Skill Idea: Mercenary. A skill tree that gives you some nice supplementary skills for a warrior or rogue type. Level 1: I better be getting paid for this! "Your reputation says you'd kill your mama for a nickel. You don't know where everyone gets that from. It'd take at least twice that at the very least before you'd even consider such an offer" Passive: Drops a small amount of gold on enemy kill. Level 2: Self Preservation: + 4 + 4 " If your time on the battlefield has taught you one thing, it's that being stabbed hurts! Level 3: Careful Maintenance: + 1 +1 +1 + 3 "It's simple really, if they can't stick a spear through your armor, they can't stick a spear through you." Active: Sharpen Weapon: Gives +5 +2, falls off after 4 attacks. cooldown 25 Level 4: I'm not getting paid enough for this: +2 +10 " The contract said lots of stabbing was to be involved. Unfortunately you assumed it would be you doing the stabbing" Passive: 100% to proc "And this one's for me" when hit (+50 + 5 + 5 on next melee attack, cooldown 20) Level 5: Iron immune system: +5 +5 "When it comes to scrounging food off the battlefield, you're not picky. As a result, you've gotten so many diseases that there simply isn't room for any more. While you have no idea how that works, you like the results" Passive: 10% chance on hit to proc "Highly contagious cough", which does damage in a small arch in front of the player. Level 6: Mythological bounty hunter + 5 + 5 +10 +5 "I'd kill the devil himself if the money was right" Active: Anti-magical Augmentation (+ 50 +20 + 5 for 20 turns, cooldown 100) Skill Idea: Fireborn Magic skillset with a focus on fire and ice resists. Level 1: Hotheaded +3 + 1 . "You Smolder with an intense inner fire" Level 2: Feed the flames +2 + 1 . "Within you lies untamed primal fire. Surely giving a bit of yourself to feed these flames is a good idea." Active ability: Feed the flames: (+5 +3 +3 for 10 turns) Costs 5, Cooldown 15 Level 3:Wildfire +2 + 1 "Give the gift of Fire, it's a gift that they'll appreciate all their life" Active ability: Wildfire (Medium in a line) Costs 4 Level 4: Kindling: +1 "You've realized that your enemies feed your inner fire as well as anything." Passive: On enemy kill: Adds Kindled flames (+3 +2 +2 +2 ) stacks to 4 Level 5: Heart of the inferno: +1 + 1 "Your veins are filled with magma and your heart is afire. It's not too pleasant" Active ability: Inferno breath: shoots a ball of fire that deals over 5 turns in a 3x3 location Cooldown 15. Level 6: Fire Body +1 + 1 "You've always been told to be the change you want to see in the world, and now you just want it all to burn" Active ability: Fire Body: Adds Fire body to self (+10 +5 - 25 + 40 , and deals aoe damage around yourself) for 15 turns Cost 20 Cooldown: 100
Whoops, put 3 instead of 2 in the title for some reason . Guess I can't count. Oh, I could have sworn I saw a mod that did that. I assume that means you can't replicate the effects of the Midas buff?
The Bankster skill from the upcoming expansion will likely add the ability to use Zorkmids for things other than that skill.
