My character died from what I think is poison but I am not sure. My character suddenly starting take severe damage from green sevens. The damage was to much for me to heal out of. I sat still checked for the poison and debuffs but didn't see anything. I tried to heal from food while I was standing still and clicked digest and instantly died . After hours of playing I got to level 10. My character was like a tank with 140HP/random resists/120 black chance/40 counter chance. I had over 100 health when I started to die and lost it all when I clicked digest. After I died I saw 3 green goo spots on the ground that I could of walked over. Is this what caused my death and what was it?
Oh, psh, that's nothing. I "died" on Level 15 two steps from hell Dredmor. On a random skills build. From Steam. Yes, I was killed by Steam. I hate you so much, Steam. If you saw no debuff, I have no idea. It's MOST LIKELY the acidic trail trap, perhaps the debuff ran out on the turn you died?
Acid burn is the #1 reason to ALWAYS keep potions of purity / Zodiacal wand ready to go. So, so worth it!
You can also slap on a Malleus Maleficarum (or whatever it is) when you step on one. It has +8 hidden on it. Why is it hidden? No clue, but it gives it to me. On my most recent build, having one combined with all the from rouge scientist and alchemy meant that I was immune to Acid Trail traps XD
Hidden buffs/debuffs need to die a horrible death. I hate trying to figure out my stats, especially in the past. Now when things don't add up I check dredmorpedia... I mean they must be unintentional. What purpose do they serve if you can just see the change in stats on the character sheet?
Agreed. I died once to a floor 9 monster zoo because I didn't realize the awesome set of troll armor I had that gave me great regen and defenses also had -3. Granted, trolls being weak to fire are comparatively obvious, but hidden debuffs are still kind of crap. There's a topic on this forums chronicling one character's playthrough who got the Diggle God of War buff...then ended up losing all of his and a good chunk of to debuffs unknown.
It's a tome that deals +8 and has -8 . The +8 is hidden. It also has some fancy proc that puts the 6 /turn thing on the ground or whatever it is. Unfortunately, unless you have Vegan it means that Lutefisks will be dealing a lot of damage.
You mean paladins, surely... Lutefisk doesn't move. It doesn't move. It doesn't move. It doesn't move...
Maybe if you say it enough times it will be true. Don't look away Kazeto. It always gets you when you aren't looking.
