Add either word filter or some sort of window like in encrusting (or multiple windows) to which you put the ingredients and it shows you only the recipes that use said items. Would be something like the supercook website. I feel the current filter system is all sorts of awkward and shows that you have the ingredients for craftable item even when you have only lets say one out of two needed items.
Well, if you are carrying just a few crafting materials, you can press the correct button to show only the recipes for crafting materials you already have. (The ones you are carrying) I would like to see a Seach Box to be able to write the name of the object I want to craft, that way I do not need to scroll all the way down to reach the lastest set of armors. As long as I remember the name.
Can we also make the filters autoupdate and the interface scroll using things other then mouseclick? 'cause AHGH crafting is painful when you're stuck in bed with a laptop touchpad >.<
So true. I broke two mini mouses already... so I am stuck with the mousepad too. I would really like an auto updating filter, I think I have the same problem than you. To avoid scrolling all the way to the botton, I use the Items I Got filter, but when I open it again after crafting something, it does not update and I have to uncheck that filter option and check it again to update the list.
The point is, I think, that that only shows items you have ALL the materials you need to craft the craft. Sometimes you're missing a material, or need to craft it out of other components, in which case the ability to say "I want to see all items that can be crafted using Steel Ingots", for example, is useful. ((Secondarily it lets you see what an item is useful for, if anything, but dredmorpedia covers that functionality quite smoothly, so I'm not too invested in that one.))
I'm all for making Crafting a more user-friendly experience. This is very useful for learning the system, as shy of consulting Dredmorpedia there's no way to tell what this item is used for. It'd also just plain be useful even with Dredmorpedia as a quick on-hand reference. One thing I'd like is if you could toggle whether this tool displayed all recipes, or merely recipes for the current selected tool. This way, you'd see Ruby can make Laser wands, gem-encrusted crossbows, and so on.
