I don't understand some enemy stats. Some clarification would help.

I understand from the Spells column that an Blobby has 20% chance to create a Weak Acid Pool when he attack me. What I don't get is the stats that's associated with it.

    What it means by,
    1. Mine, For 20 turns?
    2. Can affect caster means the Blobby might get damaged 1 unit per turn. If yes, then what's the chance of that?
    3. the icon on the left?

Mine is a spellmine, basically an effect on the floor (like promethean fire rune and such). Can affect caster just means that the caster can be damaged by it (in the xml the spells all come from one place, whether they are your spells or a monster's.) but since it casts it on/under you, you'll most likely get damaged unless you move.

The icon says "needs art" simply because there isn't any art for it :p

Means, Blobby can plant it on floor like I do with Promethean Rune of Exploding?

So, its like a wide area damage? It casts Wide Acid Pool and it will damage itself 1 unit per turn and if I don't move from that place, I'll get that damaged on the subsequent turns too?

Yeah, when attacking there's a 20% chance it will create one. I don't remember if that particular one is larger than one tile or what though.

Since the toxiblobby probably has acid resist in the first place I don't think it will get damaged, but you definitely will!

Dredmorpedia is an automatically generated info-site. The things it says about an attack are ripped straight from the game code. So, if a spell or ability says "can effect caster" all that means is that the power has the "can effect caster" flag set in the code, but that doesn't necessarily mean that there's any possibility that it will actually occur in game.

For example, most single target attack spells are set as "can effect caster", but as you can't actually target yourself with them, they never will.
In the example you provide, the "weak acid pool" is an attack effect that is placed under the target of the blobby's attack. So 20% of the time, when fighting a blobby, you'll find yourself standing in a pool of acid which will do 1:dmg_acidic: every turn as long as you keep standing in it. A solution is to simply step off the acid pool, at which point it'll stop hurting you, and, if you step backwards, it is quite likely the blobby with follow you and step onto the pool it has created itself, at which point the "can effect caster" kicks in and the acid starts trying to effect the blobby but, as the blobby has 3:resist_acidic:, the damage is absorbed entirely by the blobby's resistance. So, even though it "can effect caster", it actually can't.

If you want a site that's user written, you could try the DoD wiki, it's slightly out of date at the moment, but it does still get updated, and its written by people, not ripped straight from the code, so it tends to be less confusing.

:) Well explained Maze1125, Thank you.

I haven't properly wrapped my head around the wiki yet. But, that one also looks a lot like this wiki, just more description, but those doesn't look helpful either, cause is most of the cases those are also ripped from the game description. Maybe not from the code, but they are equally ambiguous.

Maybe I am generalizing too much, but it will take some time for me to understand everything. I hope to contribute back as soon as I am comfortable.
