As per title. Just because escaping the dungeon should be a thing that happens. And you really do have to be trying to get this. (Currently what happens is, you drop an item on the ground, play a blink animation...then reappear exactly where you were standing. You can even pick up the item again.)
Or--- it could be outside of the dungeon! A sunny green grass tileset with a brax shop and a door to dungeon level 1. note: would require the artists to draw an image of what the dungeons of dredmor entrance looks like.
Oh god I really want a grassy tile set and a giftshop that sells cameras, photos of the dreadmor (does nothing, cost a lot, and sells for 0), and food that only heals 1hp but get indigestion.
Nicholas' response here is what prompted me to finally sign up after all the lurking I was doing. That was really cool of you guys! I always wondered why I couldn't use the stairs back up after digging my way around the starting grate.
Great way to attach the sequel. You escape the dungeon, go to your god's temple or your village and they say "great job, by the way, we've found another dungeon entrance". But they take all your stuff for the museum. And there should be a museum with all the artifacts the archaeologist sent. And the currency has changed so zorkmids are worthless.
This is why you save the gold and gems you found inside in the first place. Then you melt down your zorkmids to make gold bars and re-convert to the new rate. [/troll face]
