i haven't played paranormal investigator much, so forgive me-- is it possible to transform a monster into one that flies, teleport away so it moves towards you over a body of water or lava, and then transform it back into something that walks, drowning it?

if so, that would be a nifty achievement.

You could also just find a monster that already flies and cut out the middleman :) I agree, this would be an awesome trick! ooh, or a magical lawyer could obtain a polymorphic injunction...

It would be pretty cool if you could teleport monsters (effected by their magic resistance). Drop those diggles into a nearby pond! This could be highly mana intensive as well to balance and could also be targeted at yourself (because it makes no sense you can teleport everything but yourself).

When you polymorph a monster is turned into one of the same category. Swimming monsters (eely) only turn into other swimming monster (lava eely). Flying monster (magic dragon) only turn into other flying monsters (ice dragon). Walking monster (99% of the game) only turn into other walking monsters.

All Emomancers can do this, apart from choosing the destination... which, one suspects, would not be a straightforward engine change to implement. (Besides, a kill-skill at level 1? Not exactly cool...)

I'm relatively certain that the only thing you'd see is a monster unable to move, stuck on a water square. Kind of like when you use Warlock's Challenge on an Eely. :)

Trying this trick used to crash the game. I think they said they fixed it though.

I don't think you can. I've tried to knock monsters into water before but they stop at the square adjoining the water. Whether a skill can have this side effect is another matter, though.

Interesting to note that you can knock an eely out of water but you can't knock, say, a diggle into water.
