So What's the Primary Reason You're Going to Buy the Game?

Mine is the way that you transport electricity. I don't care if the game is horrible (I know it won't be.) I will buy this game just because you transport electricity through tesla coils.

 

Because it's Gaslamp.

 

I was told there would be free candy.

 

1) To support Gaslamp. I want to put money in their pockets for the hundreds of hours of entertainment they've already given me.

2) Dwarf Fortress is a game I almost love, and should in theory love, but am repeatedly driven away by the painful mind-blistering interface. Regardless of whether or not CE is a better game than DF, I expect CE will be a more playable game than DF.

Because I'm building a quad-core gaming computer to run this game, and I'm going to play it come hell or high water.

As if carp aren't scary enough, now they are going to be demonized.

 

Because Dredmor was great and the setting for Empires sounds interesting

You need to run the Splintermind version of Dwarf Therapist and keep the Dwarf Fortress Wiki open for quick reference

Additionally, I liked DF and Towns so I think I'll like this game too.

Yes, it does. Some people just are more capable of getting used to "anything".

 

This. I find the madder lets plays more entertaining than actually playing some titles, and if I could actually get my head round the graphics/interface/systems it would be a time sink for me.

city builder + customisation + interesting hazards / enemies + random characteristics generator = happy

 

Because it's Gaslamp. It'll be a blind-buy for me. Regardless of what it is (and I really haven't tried to grasp the mechanics), I'll be buying it.
