Hi If anyone on staff can answer these, that'll be good to know. a. Are you planning on any form of fluid manipulation? (yes, I am thinking of larva powered doom thingies) b. Are you going to support play by email or similar? If not, please do!
Not 100% about fluid/hydraulic manipulation, but it is very very likely, considering the incredible amount of love the devs are giving pipes and pipelines. Also, since steam power is in, i'm assuming water will be needed to create this steam, possibly with the use of larva or other heating means. CE will support round-robin and succession colony play. There will def be some save passing function. This is very confirmed.
The confusion between lava and larva will be part of what makes this game fascinating. Wasn't there also a hint that simultaneous networked cooperative play is a design goal?
Yeah, they said they wanted to do 4?-player cooperative. It doesn't sound like the greatest thing ever, but I really don't have a good vision of this game, so maybe it will work out.
On the same map? That sounds messy. Actually it sounds like the newer mario brothers with simultaneous multiplayer which is an excuse for screwing each other over (btw - sicopathically funny). Would hat be true in a city builder? And yes my spelling is awful (and my cheap keyboard doesn't always register key strokes).
Yeah I really don't know, I'd have to compare it to some RTS's coop, where you share resources and unit control. Seems like something silly to mess around in.
I think that sounds great. I wouldn´t even go as far as restrict it to co-op. Just throw four players on a map and let them do whatever. If they want to form alliances, let them. If they want to start a war, let them. Sounds like fun.
