As the title says. Discussed here: Essential Core Skills Rebalance II: Electric Bungalow Just to forward Shreeper's idea... as it stands, the communist armors require 7 smithing. This means taking clockwork knight (and defectink to imperialist swine!) or hoping to get a kronghammer by random chance (and not hard working in the socialist paradise!). So... add +1 smithing to the tree somewhere. I think it would make perfect sense to be helpink comrades forging the iron curtain, da? I don't think it would be much of a game-breaker, just a small synergy bonus without requiring clockwork knight to guarantee access to the armor/helm.
Technically that makes sense. Problem though is that the power armour is so easily crafted in terms of reagents that it would make it too easy for them to make one of the best armours in the game, the best one in fact in their case, If the level is lowered. Also there's the psycological aspect of it where the -average- player will think that something demanding 7 is much more interesting to create than something demanding 6 . Simply on virtue of higher numbers. The latter arguement isn't all that important but should be mentioned none-the-less for the sake of completion. Something else that supports the +1 to communists is the Dwarven Atom Smasher, which is another "commie" item, although not supported by the tree itself. It would quite frankly feel out of place to make the power armour level 6 unless we're going to do the same to the smasher, which in turn would make it much too easy to obtain, even for non-communists. The way that I, and my liqoured brain by some extent, see it there's 2 possible solutions: Either A; add the , which fits the skill on so many levels flavorwise by the way, or B; add a more common alternative to the Kronghammer to the game. Frankly I reckon that the former is superior as the skill wants you to wear the armour and encouragement is always a good thing. ... Also this isn't really meant as a direct response to you, rather I'm just mentioning a lot of things that people are going to ask about eitherway whilst also giving you a sufficient reply to your very valid post. Also I'm drunk.
I agree with this wholeheartedly. either by adding +1 smithing to the skill outright, or adding a crafting recipe for an item that grants +1 smithing.
Comunism is all about putting the means of production in the hands of the workers. You are the worker. therefor, Comunism should put the means of production (smithing) in your hands. I agree with the OP. Toss a point of smithing onto the 5th or 6th level.
And I was too tired to reply and had a few threads sitting open in the browser for the past week. Today is the first time this week when I was able to leave work after just 8 hours. But that does not matter.
The last thing Essence needs is my input on a core rebalance. He has it covered better than I could hope to help out. I seriously thought of adding this to the "Modding Requests" thread. "Make totalconversion actually usable in mods and rename it to madebyessence." That would fit all the best total conversions I have seen.
