There's nothing more pervy than Van Morrison belting out/bragging about his girl coming around to pay him a visit 'around midnight'. That's Rock and Roll at its core.
Caravan Palace; There are loads of Electro Swing songs, I've got quite a bit of my media library filled with it. Also with Gramatik (Trip-hop), and Instrumental Core (Instrumental Dubstep).
I got the Collector's Edition (retail) of Frozen Synapse today. Haven't tried the game, but just put the soundtrack on. This is the second track. It's amazing.
I grew up listening to a whole lot of Simon and Garfunkel. I have all the albums, even played the heck out of "Red Rubber Ball", a song written by Paul Simon before they were Simon and Garfunkel. Anyway, here's a selection of what I've been listening to a lot this morning:
Paul Simon/Simon and Garfunkel is too good for just one post: First, the original recording of "Red Rubber Ball" by The Cyrkle: And I regretted not including this song above, instead of "The Sun is Burning" (I like the song, just not as good as this one from the same album):
BTW, odd as it may sound, I never reallized just how bad the lyrics are to Red Rubber Ball -- very catch tune, but did it strike anyone else that if the sun actually shined 'like a red rubber ball', you'd probably be on the wrong planet (or that red rubber ball would have to be highly flammable). But Simon was pretty young when he wrote it, so I can forgive that. But yeah, talk about a bad metaphor...
Now imagine if he was growling instead of singing you wouldn't have noticed that bad metaphor. Wouldn't that be so much better?
If he were growling I wouldn't have been enjoying the music lol. I never said I don't enjoy it, It's very catchy. Just not among his best work, lyrically speaking. If I wanted growling, I'd buy a very angry dog. But no one wants an angry dog, except if you want to keep the neighbors (And almost everyone else) away.
You know that's not a bad idea. If I ever start a metal band the vocals will be done by a dog possibly more than one. One of my friends has a dog who sounds like a souleater demon he would be a good candidate for the job .I wonder if people would notice.

Background non-progressive EDM music is great for getting work done, at least to me. Chose this one just because the artist is Futuristic Polar Bears.
I don't generally go in for dance music, but I do love Santana, ever since I heard him on the Woodstock album (great album, and great film, btw -- a must view for any fan of rock or folk or 60s and 70s music in general).
I just had the strangest musical connection on Pandora. I have a Bruce Springsteen channel and this is what came up:
Years ago, I discovered Patti Smith for the first time on Saturday Night Live. She performed this song, and it blew me away. Today I found myself listening to it again. I also had a lot of fun listening to all the different version, live and recorded (because it's never exactly the same twice). I finally decided on this one to share: BTW, don't watch this if explicit lyrics and language offend you.
And these two tracks sum up, pretty much, why I think Audiomachine are superior (in most circumstances) to Two Steps From Hell:
