Howdy, Is there any benefit to having multiple crafting kits in your inventory? For example, right now I have thirteen "My Little Anvil Junior Smithing Kit" in my inventory. Does that have any affect on the Smithing skill? The Dredmor wiki shows in crafting recipes a number, Iron Sword for example shows a number 2 with the anvil symbol. Does that mean I need two smithing kits or do I need level 2 (Ingoteer) Smithing skill? Thanks
You would need level 2 Smithing skill, which can come from the Smithing tree, or Clockwork Knight, or any other equipment/spells/mods that give . Your total smithing skill is on your character sheet, along with and and whatnot. You only ever need one kit, so feel free to split the stack (alt+leftclick iirc?) and sell the 12 you don't need. The Tinker kit is an ingredient for the Trapper's Toolbelt, so if you plan on making one of those you may want to hold a second Tinker kit. Smithing/Alchemy/Portastill/Grinder/Press you only need one.
If you want you can Alt+Click on a stack to get one of the kits to separate from the rest. Use the pointless stack of 14 smithing kits for some extra change or lutefisk.
I remember seeing once that a recipe required one of the kits to work. This may have been a mod that did this but I don't think so. By requiring, I mean it was an ingredient of the recipe.
I'm yet to understand how the whole tinkering system works. Looks pretty complicated with all the arrows etc.
