Sounds like ARPG music. Seriously. They'd fit right in, in something like Path of Exile. The first one for a boss dungeon, the second one for a town or hub-zone.
Audiomachine is overused in every singing contest in existence in every possible country and every possible way ever.
This: + This (from here: = Me laughing Whenever I listened to it, I could just imagine diggles dancing to it.
It's mashup time! First out the gates: Paula Abdul meets Kiss. Bob Marley singing for Iron Maiden. And then Stevie Wonder sings for Metallica.
Bah! Let them have it, Moom! I have recently discovered a newish Seattle rapper who is probably the best white rapper on the West Coast by a significant margin -- and the best part is, he's about a quarter nerd. And a quarter pimp. And half rehabbed druggie. No gangsta, but a lot f stuff that I totally identify with and a lot of stuff that makes me really glad I was never a rehabbed druggie in the inner city. He's raw half the time, silly half the time, and badass all the time. I posted my favorite song of his -- Thrift Shop -- in the Pictures thread, but this is the one that I think is the best fit for the boards. Warning: he loves to talk about his penis and sex in silly ways, so if you're sensitive about that sort of thing, this isn't for you. On the other hand, how can you resist lyrics like "Your thighs are the closet to Narina/Is it cool if I go and get lost in there?"
Macklemore is actually good. Have some more; Found this one in a music pack, like summer 2012 - It's nice that he got known from Thrift Shop, but his other raps are way more interesting. Oh have some more;
Didn't know the guy who did Thrift Store was posted above. But I do actually like Thrift Store. I would be surprised if it wasn't meant to be a parody on some level.
Actually there was an interview with Macklemore in GQ that asked about that. He said no -- he's been thrift shopping since before he could remember, and he basically thinks that the 'experience' of thrift shopping is one of the best. So while it' s poking fun, I don't think it's literally a parody. He also said, when asked, that a 'skeet blanket' (which he mentions purchasing in the song) has to have two critical qualities: it must be both soft and absorbent. You're welcome for that image.
Well, in a way, I think it is a parody. There's truth to it, it sounds, but it's still sort of being a parody of some forms of rap music which involve large spending (even Vanilla Ice was like that).
<insert long and ultimately unnecessary and annoying debate about what constitutes a 'parody' vs. merely a 'mockery' here.>
Been listening to the Hotline Miami soundtrack lately. Great work music. FUNKY LIKE WHAT. It's too bad you never really hear this one all the way through, the vocals that kick in after a minute or so are wonderful.
