I am curious how boyant such a craft could be with a flat (and thin) bottom providing nearly no water displacement.

This is from the SA forums on which I can't post :

We're not supposed to talk about Simcity so let's talk about prison architect, which does a lots of things right, as far as DF-like gameplay is concerned. One of those things is having an underground mode to build piping and electricity cables, it's very simple and does the job. It has also lots of view modes to build and manage various stuff, and those view modes are very handy indeed.

Now for CWE i doubt any underground mode would be justified when we have piping hanging above ground and it looks cool, but let's not just assume people don't like doing complex stuff and changing view modes ...

PS : I loved the underground mode in Sim City 2000, didn't play 3 and 4 though :p

Sadly did not involve Eldritch gods, Steam or the Arkham Asylym for the Canadian insane.

Use the fact they aren't there and rig their chairs to release Fun upon sitting on them to ease on your loneliness/suffering.

Can you post some sweet animations from CE you are working on? Or is there a specifically crafted release schedule for content from CE?

I'd be happy to, but I'd have to ask David first, honestly; I'm sure that he wants to keep some things behind the curtain, so to speak, and it's best if I don't step on his toes. When he gets back from GDC I'll give him a poke.

Oh EXCELLENT! Hopefully he doesn't mind! Maybe if it is animation for some of the stuff already shown in still shots he won't care :)

We are, shall we say, holding our stuff very close to our chest. Especially the amazing stuff that's been coming out of the art department over the past month.

We'll let you know when the time is right.

And now is the time when Sir Nicholas learns that his animators were all fooling around instead of working.

Haha Kazeto! You make me laugh so so hard.
Although the way Dave ended his sentence in a period, i feel it was more of a Jedi mine trick: "These aren't the animations you are looking for" than a question as to what Nicholas was talking about.

So stoked about CE lately. I been playing DF Adventure mode (not bold enough to do fortress mode until I am more comfortable with well... the UI)

They weren't "fooling around." They were finding a sufficiently prominent location for their new Perfectly Safe Art Department Black Obylisk! Productivity shall soar now that it towers above their workstations.

oh dear. Not again. Last time that happened was EA. And now look at the games they're churning out. Clearly a special Paranormal Activities unit will have to conduct a strike on gaslamp and remove it before it's too late.

That's a problem; those Paranormal guys aren't subtle and Gaslamp are already guilty of harbouring at least one wizard.

Well an Obelysk isn't exactly subtle either. It's either that or an Aetheric Sphere bomb removes the entire place from the face of the world. Or EA buys them.

In unrelated news, a new TV show is starting over here. It doesn't look too promising, alas, but the title sounds pure Gaslamp...

The Elegant Gentleman's Guide to Knife-Fighting.
