Well, Metro: Last Light is 60% off(of the €30 reduced price, I recall the launch price was €50), down to €12, so I went ahead and grabbed that, probably going to consume my time for a few days. I grabbed Space Rangers HD when it was on 20% off earlier in the week too, and again something that's going to consume a lot of my time...
I'm currently playing some Driftmoon. Not bad but there isn't a ton of depth, at least not so far. I just got my third stone.
Played through the entirety of Phoenix Wright: Dual Destinies in a few days. A worthy entry in the series, if not quite reaching the heights of the original trilogy. Still playing LoL for some reason.
I just finished the main mission tree in Creeper World 3. Which means between the optional zones, the fan-created levels, and the Dial Map Device, there's another [insert such an arbitrarily large number its functionally infinite] levels to play. It's gonna keep me busy for a while. Game play is a lot like the original Creeper World plus its own scripting language and some interesting bells and whistles, (unlike CW2, which was radically different from the original and not nearly as engaging IMHO). Of course, most of my gaming time is spent GMing tabletop RPGs, not playing computer games. I'm running 4 tabletop RPG campaigns right now. 1 face-to-face, and 3 hosted online using the Roll20 virtual tabletop (so I can game with old friends in other cities). I'm really happy with how well the Roll20 interface handles RPGs of all types, from rules-light narrative story-games to heavy tactical crunch-fests with virtual miniatures. It's got a great set of gaming tools.
Any room in one of those Roll20 groups? I'm so very starved for roleplay... don't mind much what game/system. I'll play anything from freeform narrative, to hardcore munchkin minmaxing.
Creeper World!! I played the demo once and was interested, but lost track of it... so, they have a third one now... dowloading the demo now
No room right now, I'm afraid. They're small games, but they're groups of old friends from cities I used to live in. Mainly gaming as an excuse to keep in touch, so it'd be a little weird adding in someone new that none of them know. If I start up a new campaign, though, I'll keep you in mind.
That's alright, and thanks for keeping me in mind. I haven't played anything for about two years or so... (a pretty hardcore swedish fantasy RPG based on norse mythology, before that I played some dark heresy, and some call of cthulu, and before that lots of world of darkness, etc. I spent probably two years theorycrafting for D&D 4E too but never found anyone to play with). Last time I played anything online though was freeform over ICQ... if that helps you understand how long ago that was, lol. Oh and lots of it over on Tarmon Gaidon, a Wheel of Time MUD, back in the day.
Eldritch - Won't say I've "fallen in love" with it, but I have been enjoying myself with it. It's quite a fun little game, and although it's simple it's not easy. Also found out the OST uses in-game sound effects, which is a little annoying because it can throw you off. The Lord of the Rings Online - Yeah, yeah. I know. I don't care. I've played it on and off for a few days now (I've had this account for about two years) and it's still okay. But I'm trying some quests I've not done before with my hunter and it's going reasonably well, and I need to work on my namesake guardian. I still think it's an ugly-as-sin game, and I don't think the game lives up to the (excellent) concept art. But hey. It's not bad. Avadon 2: The Corruption - Bought it and almost instantly regretted it once I saw the female designs in-game. Blargh. But I pushed past that (not without grumbling about it on Twitter) and after half an hour or so I've been okay with it. I didn't really need to buy it, what with having almost every other Spiderweb title sat unplayed on my PC and Humble Account, but shut up, yeah? Like that's ever stopped me. Spelunky - Yeah I'm still really bad at this.
I've bought Sleeping Dogs, and the northpoint DLC for it in the steam sale and that's it. Considered Left 4 Dead 2 and Killing Floor... decided not to grab them. Also saw Avadon 2, considering grabbing it on GOG(cheapest, and it could be nice as a laptop vacation game, with no DRM), I have the first Avadon game and quite liked it(consider it the best Spiderweb title). Another title up for consideration is Bionic Dues. A tactical squad combat roguelike-ish game. Kinda weird but promising. Cheapest over at Gamer's Gate, though it's still a steam game(I love steam enhanced for these little tidbits of information).
Got Spelunky a few days ago, I'm terrible but so far I'm enjoying myself. Mines 2-1 is the farthest I've gotten
That's the new Arcen title, right? I'm genuinely surprised to see it at 75% off already. It mustn't be doing too well, but to be honest I looked at the screenshots and it looked a bit too complicated. Then again, I thought the same of FTL.
It's one of those games that you can pretty much just pick up and play and figure it out as you go along (just make sure you read what's on the screen). That said, it does have a little bit of complexity to it, but nothing too overwhelming. I dove right in and didn't have much trouble figuring (most) things out. And it does have two very easy modes, even easier than 'normal', if you do have trouble. I think there was only one thing that I couldn't figure out on my own, and that was how to deal with a hallway blocked by one of my own turrets. It has a definite rogue-like feel to it, although it doesn't have permadeath, except within the context of each mission (and even then, you have 4 exos to control, so if one is destroyed, you switch to a different one). Plus there's a kind of metagame between missions, where you deal with your loot, can go shopping, and can change how each of your 4 exos are modifed. (You can' t immediately use something you pick up during a mission -- you can only equip it between missions). You'll spend a lot of the game deciding which mods will go where , and what you'll buy or sell (if anything).
BTW, I'm a sucker for rogue-likes, and I just noticed a new one out on Steam (in early access), so I had to give it a try: "Steam Marines". It's a squad-based science fiction rogue-like where you are trying to clear a spaceship of all enemies, deck by deck. I've only played it a little (tutorial and then wiped out on level 2 after opening up the wrong door). I'll try it again maybe this evening. I can't say yet what I feel about it, and keep in mind that because it's early access, the devs are still working on it. I'll let you guys know as soon as I form a more informed opinion on it (that is as soon as I figure out how to open doors safely without getting totally creamed by the 9 or 10 monsters hiding behind it -- totally did not expect that).
Yup new Arcen game. 24% off on gamer's gate. But the base price is pretty cheap anyway. It's €8.99/$9.99US(yes, it's more expensive in europe than USA, as usual, costing 17.69% less in USD) on steam without discount. About €6.79/$9.31US on GG(using a currency converter for USD, I get the price there in swedish crowns, SEK).
Saw a dip there on a stats page, figured it was an error shop-side, since it was very brief, like one hour or something. (Seen here: http://isthereanydeal.com/#/page:game/price?plain=bionicdues ), most likely an employee goofed when entering the discount, confusing 75% off and 75% price, and it was then corrected when noticed.
Got They Bleed Pixels when it was 75% off earlier today (it might've been for longer, but I only noticed today) It's pretty neat, I like how the collectibles and hit-streaks / style combos charge up your checkpoint generator. It's pretty much Super Meat Boy with combat and a dash of story.
