In addition to having a button to selecting the same skills that you picked last time, how about a way of storing a particular build, then calling it up at will from the skill screen.

As a tribute to other Rogue-likes, you can have a Tourist skill set
Note that the names and descriptions and details need work:
Each rank gives you an additional 10% discount when buying from Brax
Rank 1: Take a Picture -- target is blinded
Rank 2: Don't drink the water -- you gain +2 resists to toxic and acidic damage
Rank 3: Have a picnic: Summon a Barbecue, and raw steaks to cook (Barbecue is permanent so can block a path)
Rank 4: Tour Guide: Teleport to the nearest Lutefisk shrine
Rank 5: Found Lost Luggage: you (one time) find your lost luggage -- a 10-slot storage container

+1 for both ideas, pretty unique concept, dunno about rank 2 though, could be a passive but it's weak as something you put points into.

I did mean rank 2 as a passive -- thought that it was on par for other rank 2 passives, and think +3 each might be a bit high. It could be adapted to be an ability instead, with a larger resist, but a longer cool down, but I personally think it's better as a passive.

Alternatively, maybe I can come up with a different rank 2 skill and just have each level of Tourist give a +1 resist to Toxic and/or Acidic. It was just something that I thought might fit with the theme.

I'm thinking out loud now -- one problem with it that I acknowledge is that, thematically, it doesn't fit as a Mage, Rogue, Warrior skill. But I always thought that neither do the crafting skills. So it could either go whereever it's needed to balance things out, OR (and I haven't fleshed out this idea yet very well) you could split out the other skills that don't quite fit and create a brand new archetype (if it were just crafting skills, I'd call it a Craftsman).

Yeah that's what I meant. Passives that aren't damage that you must spend points to get makes it a weak skill - if it's a passive that you get along with spending points in the tree I'm all for.
