    Howdy

What does it happen when you transform people in militia? Do they stop working? Is there a period after which they will transform back in labourers?

    Cheers

If u draft militia. At the moment they will permenantly remain as militia. They do the same duties as soldiers but less effectively.

In the next main build they plan to address the matter so if u click they can return back to labourers etc. But as I said at the moment once u do it there is no turning back.

    Hope that helps ;)

This seems to defy the point of a militia somewhat. Wouldn't part of the idea be that laborers should keep working at their jobs, but are allowed to rise to arms as part of a militia when the colony is under attack? This could have negative consequences as well (envy from non-militia colonists who want to have a gun, deadly disputes)

Yeah, always intended to go both ways. What we've got here is just because the "turn back into civilians" button wasn't hooked up. Which, uh, that should be hooked up. I think it is in the latest? Will double-check.

And conscription does upset people unless they have specific traits, and militia are not as disciplined at performing military tasks as real soldiers are.

Is it possible to set up a work crew full of hotheads who like a good fight and duty to the Empire? I would think that may help balance out anger toward conscription.

If a colonist has the Military Training trait, they will be happy about being conscripted.
