Can't launch Mac build now (latest experimental branch 33B), I get "ERROR: Couldn't find game data, giving up." In the console the only thing printed is "[MISC] Starting Spectre" I tried verifying game data in Steam, and also I tried completely re-installing it. Both did not fix it.
I was able to start the game manually in Terminal. me$ cd '~/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/Clockwork Empires/Clockwork Empires.app/Contents/Resources/' me$ ./Clockwork\ Empires game starts up just fine .. The lua errors are indeed fixed, but still it seems trees do not render. Their shadows are there, though.
for me starting manually from terminal got me into the game, all rendered fine then every 10 seconds people just froze doing nothing and it eventually just crashed out, still at least no masses of script errors appearing is better than before
We'll keep trying to reproduce the trees issue here, although we're going to need more Macs. Rev 33c, a small hotfix, contains a fix for the "cannot data" error, and will be up later today. Linux: Andrew comes in to set up the build machine on Thursday, we'll see what needs to be done after that.
is there a way to turn on extra logging or is that enabled already? we'd all love to help out in as many ways as possible, I'm sure
By the way, how is performance? I was surprised at how slow it is on one of the iMacs in the office, whereas on Micah's little macbook pro it's really quite snappy.
build 34 - now have a game that is playable - yay! Still no trees or fish people heads though... NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2048 MB Oh and also, the minimap is just an empty box with minimal written in it. Not sure if thats A Thing. Oh and oh, I seem to be able to mine surface nodes I can't see - suspect they ain't rendering either.
