Whether or not the final game allows beds to be built in arbitrary buildings, I really like hearing about weird lateral solutions to common problems. Another example would be planting a row of cabbage plantations between your colony and the beach, to shield yourself from Fishmen.
Depends who you ask. Daniel got the kitchen issue, albeit in a ceramics workshop. It's not getting fixed for Rev 36, as it happened rarely enough in the office today that it's not a showstopper, but it will be addressed for, uh, 36A or whatever it is.
Yeah, I second everyone so far. I always just chuck a few cots in whatever workshop is built. It's just more effecient. I also always add a loading bay door to my buildings because it looks neat, and interestingly this often causes a texture problem on the "Inside" of the door. This makes it seem as if parts of the wall just sort of roll up whenever anyone walks through. Just a quick note - not sure if a bug or not? Soldiers no longer seem to reload. Neither blunderbusses, muskets or pistols require it. Both times the NCO was a communist. Not sure if that's relevant, but it's a bit odd. This and the new military job re-organization make footsoldiers are very effective. I haven't had to rally, interact or execute any of them for two quick games now. Even when attacked by bandits (5) and fishmen (4), they handled the problem handily without me doing anything. Since that makes it "my" job to construct gambions and maintain military supply lines, I think that works rather well as per the vision guidelines. Anyhow, yeah. Reloading is bugged, possibly.
Also speaking of soldiers, despite insistent recruitment drives, none of mine have joined a cult yet. They always refuse. "XXX tried to recruit YYY but YYY wasn't interested". Not one soldier, or two soldiers, but each and all of the 6 redcoats currently in the colony. This has only happened with soldiers, everyone else has been very willing to join the Druids of Cosmic Alignment. I hear their mid-week sacrifice really is just something special. Because I've neither got booze nor laudanum, I'm wondering if this might be related to some architecture thing where "soldiers" are already tagged as being part of whatever sub-grouping cults are part of. Or if soldiers are just meant to be this stoically supportive of the Empire, with Military Training imparting a certain "immunity" to cult influence.
