I'm reasonably sure it's possible to gain back stuff stolen by kleptoblobbies, is it a % chance? A kleptoblobby stole some bolts from me, then I counter-attacked and killed it, and it didn't drop the bolts. So yeah, under what circumstances do I get back what was stolen?
If a kleptoblobby dies from anything except a counterattack, it will drop the item that was most recently stolen from you. If you had two items get stolen, then the first one is gone forever; if the blobby dies from a counterattack, then the stolen item is likewise gone. The latter is presumably a bug.
They should have fixed it now. Why the hell did they not fix that bug? It's a big bug, and should have been number 5 on the list of bugs to fix since the first patch. Number 1-4 being the broken skills.
What Derakon said. The only way to get your item back is to kill the Kleptoblobby before it can A) steal from you again and B) attack you enough to provoke counter-attacks from you. The best way I've found to deal with Kleptoblobbies is to use alt-click to unstack some worthless items and put them in your 1-3 Belt slots. I suggest things like Softballs, crafting materials you can't use (saltpetre, brimstone, ores, ingots, copper wire, etc), or things with poor sell values (any equipment with 0-2 stars ideally), low-powered food/drink (anything less than 9 HP or 10 Mana). Once you're off the Kleptoblobby Floor, you can put your belt back the way it was.
Of course, it's arguably a bug that kleptoblobbies always target the first item in your belt. Given that the only difference between the belt and the backpack is one of convenience, arguably they should be able to target anything you're carrying that isn't in your equipment. But then of course, that's just doing more to screw over melee characters...
Well yes, your belt is more convenient because it's easier to reach stuff there -- that's why Batman doesn't lug around a utility suitcase. And, of course, that's why it's so convenient for the kleptoblobbies as well. In any case, yes, the best strategy, if you MUST melee them, is to keep some crap items in those first few slots, and to kill them first and fast.
I was talking about Dual Wielding, and how it wasn't working correctly for the longest time. The fact that most skills that added stat points, like Smith's burliness, doesn't add the normal bonuses. And the other major skill bugs that I can't remember. Oh good, Gaslampgames on Twitter said that it's been there for a long time, and they'll be working on it. And I don't even have to throw Prinnies at their headquarters. "NOO! Dood! Why?!?!" BOOOM
You are aware that Dual Wielding, and the primary stat bonuses on skills, were fixed in 1.0.5, right?
I am aware of that. Sigh... I said it wasn't working for the longest time. That means I know it was fixed. I was saying that the Klepto-blobbies should have been fixed right after the skills were fixed. He wanted to know, Bushwhacker, what I meant, so I told him. I guess I didn't clarify what I meant.
