Thirding, but with the caveat that it has to die from leyden weapons (pistols in my case). That or the fire? Not sure, I switched my militia to muskets directly after the spore awakened (and was set on fire) and they killed it with bullets. No crash.
Don't know if you have seen my post in the 1.0d thread. These circumstances still causes crashes. Dmp and save for 1.0d are available in the 1.0d thread.
I looked at that, but it doesn't seem to be a crash anywhere near the particle system. It looked instead like it crashed deleting a widget. Also, the save you supplied doesn't crash for me. Again, if somebody has a repro case I"m happy to take a look? But I can't find a way of reproducing this.
