I've just lost a quite good game because of pretty badly formulated tooltip for "Just Quit". "The game will not be saved" doesn't equal "The game will not be saved AND YOUR PREVIOUS SAVE WILL BE COMPLETELY DELETED!!!". Please fix it so people will not fall in the same trap as I did, I feel really frustrated now.
    ... R.I.P. my best game yet :(

I've just been told by a friend that it is actually loading that deletes your saves when you have permadeath on. I haven't played any roguelike game before so I'm not used to this behavior and would never expect it, and I think it would help us, newbies, a lot if it was visibly mentioned somewhere in game.

Deleting the save, when you load in, is a definitely going to be a problem if you CTD like I did on my last character.

Perhaps they can turn on an auto-save in the meantime. Will suggest...

its a roguelike, with permadeath you don't have a save unless you exit the game and save when you do. Its intentional to thwart cheating (aka exiting without saving and just reloading is NOT roguelike)

its designed so every action you take is permanent, unless you do extensive scumming/cheating methods. If you want to cheat/reload just take off permadeath

I like permadeath. There's a big problem with getting blind-sided by a CTD, or a bug, and losing your whole character.

This happened to me after I had just finished the 3rd level... all gone. While saving and restarting every hour (and backing it up?) may be a good idea for a work around, it's not a good solution.
