Random generated items blocking the way

    I've searched the bug forums but I didn't find where this was mentioned before (because I know it has been), so here's the deal: I can't get past this point and as I understand, there's no possibility of getting a cyclic path in a dungeon floor, so whatever there is on the other side, is unreachable since I have no knockback skills to try to move something. Maybe some additional restrictions in the way random items as levers, shrines, etc, spawn on the dungeon could solve this problem...

    Don't despair, there might still be hope!

    Solutions (knockback, teleport, digging, batty form) can be found in at least 11 of the skill trees (I make sure every build I use includes at least one of those 11 skills for just this sort of thing), and sometimes appear on magic items as well.
    • A Handy Wand would do wonders in that situation.
    • A Concussion Bomb thrown at the lever should do the trick.
    • If you're not on Permadeath, you could even try Instability Infusion potions.
    • And if all else fails, you could save up for a Bolt of Mass Destruction and aim it at the wall right next to the pedestal.
    Given that you're on Floor 5, there's a good chance that at least one of those items is available in some shop or vending machine on a floor above you.

    Did it lock off a large section of the dungeon? If so, you might get lucky by trying all the displacement glyphs you can find. If that doesn't work, back track to the previous level, and check every stair case you haven't tried yet. And if that's still not getting you over there, you can play the next level down, and then backtrack via every staircase below you.

    I've tried some of your advices, but not all. For the moment, I kept exploring the dungeon level and trying all the displacement glyphs I found, with no luck yet. Also went upstairs a couple of times, but since almost all the level was yet to explore, I was waiting to finish to start trying things.

    I might try first with stairs, both up and down, since I don't have any knockback item (concussion bombs, handy wand, bolt of mass destruction...), but there are things I didn't think of, so I'll explore all the options since now that I've explored all the reachable paths, I found out the're a big chuck of the level blocked behind that place.

    In one hand, it could be looked into to avoid having to go back like that. On the other hand, this is a roguelike, who said it was going to be easy? :D

    Actually yes, I completely forgot to upload it. Sorry about that.

    Sorry for double-posting, but I encountered this bug again, so I thought it could be helpful to have more than one savegame that reproduces it. This time, it's the same savegame than the red square bug I reported earlier, but since I advanced in the dungeon level, I'm uploading it again where the bug occurs. I'm not stuck here since this time I can displace the lever, but I'll leave this here, anyway.

    As in the save in the other thread, you'll need Inquisitor + Clutch of Midas to make it work. Thanks, once again.
