Portable dying a lot

Discussion in 'Suggestions' started by He who restarts often, Jul 23, 2012.

  1. Since the game runs independantly of Steam, and is not so large, I would like to put it on a thumb drive to sneak a few deaths in at work. Please allow us to designate where saves are stored so in the few instances I live long enough to come back to a play session, I would not have to manually back up and move save files around.

I take it there is no way to mod that in? Haha.
I have wanted to copy dredmor onto my little attom processor Asus and play it late at night when I wake up (NTTG only of course).
But I don't know if it will run, especially with only 1 gig of ram and a tiny resolution and make it not part of the steam cloud.

Dungeons of Dredmor: Now for high school kids who have nothing better to do in study hall.

No seriously, if I was still in high school I would be that kid playing this game on a thumbdrive.

Assuming your netbook can handle a resolution of 1024x600 (I haven't seen one that can't) there shouldn't be any major performance issues aside from a bit of a longer wait when starting a new game or changing floors - At least, judging from my own experience testing mods on an Acer Aspire One.

I can confirm this as well, the game runs just fine on my little netbook. The 1024x600 resolution does mean that you won't see very far but I prefer using melee anyway so it doesn't matter much.

I have an Asus eeePC Seashell, and it runs fine. In fact, I don't even have it saved on my system: I run it over my network.

I mostly played games on my calculator. Less obvious, and making levels for Mario was surprisingly fun.
