I do not get it Warlock. Was he afraid the spider could be anywhere, or perhaps invisible?

*Edit* I have swatted insects and found no remains before. I looked around and found nothing. Then I gave up and went back to my usual stuff.

By the way, I hate spiders. But I understand they are crucial to our ecosystem. As much as I fear them, I make every attempt to contain them and transport them outside my home when I find them. If I do not see them, I think of them as welcomed guests to my home. They kill and eat things that would otherwise be a hazard to me and my family.

I think it may well be possible for them to learn to stay out of sight. This is not a theory. It is observation. While the lifespan of a spider may be short, they seem to learn across generations where they should not go to avoid me. The few times I see a web somewhere, I leave it alone. They are no danger to me if they stay on a web and I avoid it.

you just pretty much answered your own question. He was too frightened of the possibility that the spider might still be alive, so he ran out of his house and booked a hotel room for the night.
