Since I got a drawing tablet yesterday, I wanted to make some random art, and I came up with this DoD fan art. Sadly, the forum doesn't have a Fan Art topic at all. Hence the name of this one. [I'll add new images on TOP of this post from now on (14/12/2012)] The Asgard Descendant landing on Earth (for my skilltree mod "Asgardian Ace"). A quite rich adventurer procrastinating the need of Voltaic resistance. Witty remarks. Four diggles performing an ancient ritual dance. Note the sacret poses they make to please their gods. Diggle species' gentlemen holding a quite acceptable party. Badass male character, the overexcited rogue-warrior-wizard-hybrid. So; introducing my first female character in DoD, dieing from a really inconveniently placed acid fountain at DL1.
Because the avatar is always the same, i'd never considered how ridiculous your character might actually look with different items. Example: Parachute pants + Clockwork Armor.
In the second one, the fireball appears to be off-style, due to the character having border lines and the fireball not having them. And the third one looks great (and is somewhat amusing).
Yes, it was the hardest work I made yet, and when I wanted to add a Bolt of Destruction to complete the masterpiece, I almost fell off my chair from sleep so I decided to just make that fireball. ---- Also, the person to find the reference to pop-culture in the diggle ritual will get a cookie.
I would prefer that you add the images to latter posts as I click on the thread from what's new and I always have to go to the top afterwards and then scroll down to see the new ones. It's starting to get a bit long in the scrolling and soon the thread will warp to a second page and people would have to go back to the first page and scroll down to see the new works. I like the pictures by the way.
Actually the thread is meant as a general fan art thread, because there is none, but none seems to post any of their own fan art..
Well, most people here don't really have much skill in terms of detailed digital art creation, and those who have it tend to be busy with other things. But that is something to remember; if I ever get enough time to start thinking about drawing things for the sake of drawing them, I'll know where to post.
I know you want some critique so I'll say first that I think it's great that you're doing this. I know how much work is involved when you do full color pictures, and the amount of effort you put into it shows. Now... that being said. The Clockwork knight looks a bit strange around the neck, and a shoes should be modeled after the rocket boots sprite. Also his pose could be more actioney, like he's holding a clockwork chainsword or something. other than that, EXCELLENT WORK!
Diggle Commando's and Great Pumpkinns are invisible.. ---- Yes I'm way too perfectionistic. The Clockwork Knight took a long time because I started on the pose first, then when the great modelling was done I found out the head was too small, so I made it bigger. Suddenly I went full retard on the neckguard from the Clockwork Knight helmet; it was on the chin height of my newly modelled head. The shoes were supposed to be rocket boots, but I think they don't fit the picture nor the game; the colorscheme is way too different. I chose Copper Boots because they had voltaic resistance, and they had +/- the same color as Clockwork Armour. He is supposed to look like he's buying the shield in some Brax store, and if he had a weapon I couldn't continue the joke of him overexaggerating the need of voltaic resistance, because the Clockwork shield has voltaic resistance, but a Clockwork weapon doesn't. I still feel bad about the right arm; I got teached that it's more realistic if the arms are about the size of the head, but I modelled the right arm BEFORE I found out the head was too small..
