Okay so I purchased the game on steam so i could play it through wine (which has some major problems), it's playable at least, but I am wandering when the Linux version is due?

I don't think they have any set date, but the Gaslamp guys have mentioned they may find alternate ways of distributing the game at a later date. I think they mentioned they chose steam due to ease and a ability to find a larger audience in a short period of time(which was a big factor due to their very small budget).

Well there is gameolith.com who will sort out packaging for them and Desura is due in a couple weeks to be finally ported :)

Either way, programming a game for a different OS is a lot of work.

Linux is slated to-do after we ship the 1.0.4 patch. We've got some other distributors lined up and same deal - doing those after 1.0.4.

And the way the game is coded, it should be relatively simple to make it work on Linux.

Yeah it's trivial to port if you program in cross platform libs from the start which you guys did going by your blog :), been following you for some time and enjoying the game under wine so far, can't wait for native though :)

Will the linux version be provided to owners of the steam version or will this be a totally separate thing?

Great to hear it is still coming from the blog post :)

A couple of places to put it on:
    http://beta.indievania.com/
http://www.gameolith.com/ (who sort out all the packaging for you, no fuss for you guys at all)
    http://www.desura.com
