They've been operating under a loss for a few years. They're not profiting - so the joke is that they're a non-profit group.

That was my first thought, but I figured that was too easy an explanation. Overthinking is not always my strong suite, but I have my moments of it. :)

At least the horse face guy is wearing clothes and not messing with 'shrooms this time. :)

No actual funny pictures here, but some great old classic comedy recordings:

The Valve one is wrong, but even if it wasn't it stinks of fanboy bullshit and a gross misunderstanding of cat behaviour.

    Valve are not gods
Valve are not PC gaming messiahs
Valve only seem that way compared to the rest

Oh well, I perceived as more of a subtle pun there than anything else.

Because cats can appear to be friendly and loyal to others whilst being arseholes towards their owners, and all the love they get on the internet is really inexplicable.
Not to mention that the rest of them are presented as "human friends", so Valve is the odd one out.

I do acknowledge that many of you probably don't see it the way I do, though.

Yeah to fit the theme of the others, the cat probably should also have "He craps on the carpet sometimes but is too cute to stay mad at for long" or something. I didn't make it.

Or as Kazeto said, the subtle "cats are automatically not as good as they look"

I agree, but by missing that - deliberately or otherwise - they've really changed the tone.

Cats are pure evil. Their sole defense mechanism worth a damn is cuteness. And they prosper due to it.

My feline overlord rules over me with iron claws. :(

The Cat analogy for Valve is actually accurate when you consider that cats are selfish and see you as a tool to get what they want from you, and would gladly bury you in the litterbox if it suited them for even an instance.

Cat = Valve is perfect. The internet loves them irrationally. They're both 'I'll move when I want to, thank you very damn much" and they both really don't care, yet (as with cats) they maintain a strong place based on, essentially, purring and ease of maintenance. Sure, they'll rip blinds (save games), but you don't need to walk them (go out to buy your games).

Say what you want about Valve, but steam has become ubiquitous for a reason. I don't actually play any of their games because they aren't my kind of games. But steam has simply made itself at home on my computer and so long as it remains as convenient as it is to to keep there, I don't see myself viewing it as evil any time soon.

But yeah, it does ruin save game files if you aren't too careful about it lol.

Steam has become ubiquitous because some publishers want you to use it for their products. It isn't just Valve's own catalogue that brings people to Steam, it's the fact you can't typically get around Steamworks and it's used on a large number of AAA games, so really your chances of avoiding it are pretty slim.

  19. The reason for Valve's success is that Gabe is a huggable teddy bear of a man. You can't be angry at him.

We could really do without yet another Steam debate/derail. Carry on with the pictures.
