Can't actually turn the game on right now

Windows 7 64

For some reason I simply can't turn the game on, at all. I get to the sound/resolution select screen, hit play, and it closes. That's it. Poof.

Any ideas on how to fix it? It won't take full screen or any resolution at this point.

 

Yeesh, I feel for you. Try updating drivers - Steam offers a nifty update drivers option now which might make it easy. If you go into the Steam Apps folder, under common, you can find the Dungeons of Dredmor folder, and run the executable from there in compatibility mode.

Let us know if this helps! (Also, does this game run on java? updating java might help, in that case)

 

I was running it fine before the update, it's only post-update that it's not working.

 

Hrm, have you tried re-installing or validating the install under properties in steam?

 

You have probably done it by now, but try restarting steam / the whole PC.
