I'm wearing some equipment which gives me multiply resistances for example a krong'ed warm mitten which has +3 cold and +2 toxic .. but after i loaded my savegame this day i saw in the character screen that only 1 cold resistance was "active" but i should have had 4 (all items combiend) So i tested a bit and foudn out that somehow saveing + reloading effects resistance checks (i asume that it has to do with the 3 new equipmentslots due to the mittens being effected) Putting the gloves into the slot anew fixes the resistance "bug" Pic after reloading the save After putting the mittens in into the slot again This "bug" nearly killed me cause Level 7 is the freezer and i was running around with only 1 of 4 potential cold resistance .... it was not funny
I wasn't able to reproduce this either, but I'll keep an eye out. At least for other kinds of gloves it seemed to work.
Wanted to bump this, I had the very same thing happen on my char, the resistances I had on my gloves didn't show, but no other slots seemed to be affected. I used the Pyromancer's Gauntlets, so the resistance in my case was 2 . Also, I should add that it took me quite some time to notice this, so I don't know if it applied to the other stats they gave. This would happen, consistently, whenever I'd start up Dredmor, but putting the gloves in my inventory and then re-equipping gave me the appropriate resistances again, and I only had to do this once every time I loaded up my char. Also, the gloves had to be properly put in the inventory, just removing them and then wearing them without first having them in the inventory had no impact on any resistances. Has no one else had this issue? I thought I was the only one until I read this thread, but maybe this is an OS-related issue since Daynab couldn't reproduce it? Or does it have to do with your skills or other equipment somehow? I'm on win7 x64 and playing via steam, if that matters. tl;dr: confirmed, I had the same bug in the latest patch
I ve had the same, but with PANTS. Almost died after reloading because I was taking way more putrefying damage than I should, then looked at my character sheet and saw something was off. Took off my pants, shameless, and resistances came back when I put them back on. Now I have to add something: My resistances disappeared again when I went down stairs. I didnt reload or quit or anything. I just went down to another floor and after a while I noticed my resistances were gone again. Last note: not only the resistance disappear, the pants had absolutely no effect whatsoever ( dodge, stubborness,... )
I'm resurrecting this thread from the dead as I ran into this bug again today, and creating a new thread for the same bug seemed unnecessary. It's quite weird actually, it's been long since I last ran into this, so I thought this bug was long dead. Alas, my resistances looked weird on my newest char (created and played on patch 1.09 REV B). I looked at my pants slot, noticed that I was supposed to have , in addition to some other resistances, on my fanceh artifact pants, but saw no acidic resistance on my character sheet. Looking at the numbers closer I realized that the other resistances it supposedly provided were in fact not provided either. Just like it was back on 1.08 it was fixed by removing my pants, putting them in the inventory and then back on. <insert obligatory flashing-the-poor-diggles-scarring-them-for-life-joke here>. So it's not a critical error or anything, but it's somewhat annoying. Contrary to 1.08 the only slot that seems to be affected is the pants-slot. Update: So this is pretty cool... After checking if my other slots had any problems keeping the resistances I noticed that they did quite the opposite. My Ankh Amulet's 3 is still there. Even though I removed the Ankh. Not that I'm complaining, I just thought I'd put it here as well. The 8 it provides is removed when I take it off though... this is just weird
Generally, it does that for resistances on the new slots--gloves, belt, pants. Additional effects, such as pyromancer's gloves or the CK gauntlets also don't apply until you remove and put them on again. It can be rather frustrating, yes.
Oh, so it does apply to the other slots as well then? Personally I didn't notice it for any other slot than my belt (still on the patch 1.09 REV B ofc). I'll take a closer look right now since I was just about to play me sum dredmor anyways. EDIT: Yeah, this doesn't seem to be only a pants-issue, the resistances from my Pyromancer's Gloves didn't show up either. The stats from my belt did however, but they we're simply 1 1 -- no resistances or any fancy stuff on those.
