I found this "bug" while playing the game using the Interior Dredmocating mod. My character was really awesome too, lost a very cool helmet I had bought If you're wondering, I got teleported there after pressing a lever. There was a boss monster I easily killed, but there's nowhere to move out
you could enable debug mode and use the change floor shortcut to escape! http://dredmod.com/wiki/Debug_Mode
The north wall is breakable, so if you have some way to attack it you can get out (aoes for example).
i also got into an unwinable situation with a random teleportation and a lever that only spawns unlimited robots,at least i was only on floor 3 =( for now on ill playing without interion dredmocating.
I had a very similar issue just a minute ago (logged on here to report it). I wasn't sure if this was caused by a mod, but I am using Interior Dredmorating(sp?) as well. I have no AoEs, (that I know of -- I AM carrying a whole bunch of new crap that I have no idea whether they have special abilities or not that can get me out of trouble -- various new food items, potions, wands, gummy diggles, etc.) Note that in my case, I was not teleported into a sealed room, but a section of about 5 or so rooms, completely cut off from the rest of the dungeon, and with absolutely no teleports, or stairs up or down I have no problem with a surprise teleport, but it would be nice if it wouldn't put me into a sealed area, and therefore essentially, end the game for me.
How exactly do you want me to break these walls? Started a new character, died to an elite monster on floor 2. I just bought the expansion (realm of the diggle gods) and I have the feeling the game got harder lol
Keep explosives on you if your skills can't do it. Makeshift bomb, concussion bomb, etc. I always keep a stack of some sort of bombs on me.
Exactly the same issue for me -- I got teleported fairly early in the game before I had many skills., But still -- I'm not even sure that some of my POTENTIAL aoe skills would work without targetting something (like a monster or breakable object). I was playing a pure melee character.
You'll nearly always have something at hand to break walls if you just think of keeping it and not selling/ignoring it. Even dwarven IEDs or caltrop eruptors would get him out of that situation(yes they break walls if you walk put them down next to a breakable wall and step on them). I kind of consider it a good lesson. Akin to selling all your healing items and then complaining when you die of drinking acid from a fountain.
Crimson: The walls north of where you are are breakable. Just about any area effect attack should get you through it. Bombs, most damaging spells, some bolts, some traps if you're willing to subject yourself to a little damage. Even the area attacks from the melee weapon skills will do it, if aimed at the empty spaces adjacent to the walls. Nearly every character has something to break a wall with. Haldurson: It's possible you stepped on a mysterious portal. Is the chain of 5 rooms on the same floor, or a different one? Mysterious portals send you to a new floor, made up of ~6 rooms or so. The last room in the chain will have another portal somewhere. Stepping on it will send you back to the floor you'd been on. Sometimes the portal ends up kinda hidden by a wall or other terrain feature, so make sure you stand on every space in the last room, including any where your character is partially hidden by walls or things. If that doesn't seem to work, post a screenshot here and we'll see if we can't figure out what's going on based on your map position.
It definitely was a lever that teleported me -- I know what a mysterious portal is, this was not one. I was only on level 2 so I ended up abandoning the game at that point (and disabling all my mods). But I did not delete the save so I can reload the mods, etc. and see what I can see. If I can't actually get out, I'll take a screen shot and post it (later tonight -- haven't had dinner yet).
No need, I can already tell from what you're saying, it's my fault. It's essentially a bugged room in the version of ID I put up on Steam Workshop. Crap. I'll get it fixed ASAP. It was released for a month and no one caught it. We were all too busy with expansion beta-testing. Steam Workshop means so many more people using the mod, what wasn't a problem before now is.
