    The Axeman Skill Tree:
    - "Why wield an axe, when you could play one?"

This is a rock music (guitar) themed warrior skill tree, I've got several skills thought out so far, but I'm looking for more ideas, and some feedback on the current power balance.

    • 0. Axeman - "After years of your parents moaning at you to get a real job, you've finally mastered the intricacies of axemanship"
      • Item: The Axe - A guitar, in the shape of a battleaxe, I am not sure on what skill gains/damages to give this yet...
    • 1. I am Iron Man. - "DUM, DUM, DUM-DUM-DUM, DANA-DANA-DANA DUM, DUH-DUH-DUH"
      • Passive Buff: 1:armor_asorb: , 1:resist_piercing:, 1:resist_slashing:, -1:resist_acidic:,
      • Spell: Can he see or is he blind? - Equal chance to either greatly increase or decrease the casters :sight:, lasts for 10 turns, 25 downtime
    • 2. Power Chords- "The bread and butter of any aspiring Axeman, a barrage of sound, enough to make the ears bleed. All the relentless thrashing has made you burlier too."
      • Passive Buff: 1:burliness:
      • On Hit Effect: Power Chords! - On hit has a chance to inflict the "Power Chords!" effect on enemy, causing a one turn stun and a inflicting a scaled amount of :dmg_blast:
    • 3. Ram-stein - "The darker side of things, summon the unholy avatar of rock music to aid you in your quest to 'stick it to the Man'."
      • Passive Buff: -1 :resist_righteous:
      • Spell: Summon Ram-stein - Summons Ram-stein, a demonic goat with devil horns, which inflicts :dmg_necromatic:. 50 downtime
    • 4. Electrifying Solo - "You are becoming a guitar master, your epic solos are electrifying. Literally."
      • Passive Buff: 3 :resist_voltaic:, 1:melee_power:
      • Spell: Electrifying Solo: AOE spell spreading out from the caster, inflicts scaled :dam_voltaic: on enemies, and has a chance to cause the "Face Melter" effect. 45 downtime.
      • Spell Effect: Face Melter: Causes a scaled amount of :dmg_conflagratory: per turn, lasts 3 turns.
<!-------- Things to go in here? People, you're up! --------->
    • X. Deal with the Devil - "Everybody knows that all true rock legends are the Devil's best friends. You are no exception. It'll cost your eternal soul though."
      • Passive Buff: 5:resist_nercomatic: , 5:resist_conflagratory: , 5 :resist_slashing: , 5:resist_piercing: , 5:resist_crushing: , - 5:resist_righteous:
      • Spell: Lucifers Contract - Causes a highly scaled amount of :dmg_necromatic: and :dmg_conflagratory:, with small chance that the damage can be inflicted upon the caster. We all hate the small print.
So there you have what I have so far. Everything is flexible, except that last spell, I like the idea of it too much.

    Now taking all criticisms! :D

One comment I've heard a lot from others is when designing a skill tree, drop out passives [such as "1:armor_asorb: , 1:resist_piercing:, 1:resist_slashing:, -1:resist_acidic:"].

Replace passive buffs with active/passive effects to give make your skill tree "feel different". There are a decent number of raw stat skill trees out there.

As an example you could do something like:
% Chance when hero is hit to yell "I AM IRON MAN" really loud gaining [1:armor_asorb:, 10:block:]

Diggle groupies... sounds... interesting :p I love it

Yeah, now that I think about it I hate it when I level up and find out that all my choices are just passive buffs and I dont get any new toys to play with :( it shall be changed
