I got the 1.09 patch on Desura today . Created a new character and started on the first floor. I opened a bookcase and the recipe had a broken image in place of the skill level. See attached error screenshot. Then the game crashed and I couldn't rescue my character. Luckily I had gone down a level once and had an auto save.
Ah-HAH! Somebody reported this earlier, but I never figured out what was causing it. Thanks - I'll fix this tomorrow morning before we hit Steam, and I'll reupload the result to Desura.
