Bored of the first floor?

If you're like me and keep going back to Rogue difficulty or keep trying new builds but you're bored stiff of the first floor:

    1. Draw a 3x3 box pattern on a piece of paper to keep track of Anvils, Lutefisk shrines and Uber Chests.
    2. If you need to regain mana/health, see my other thread on "Jogging for health" - basically just use the +/- keys on the main part of your keyboard and run back and forth to quickly regenerate without using up valuable food/beer.
    3. Save early, save often.
    4. Steal from Brax by picking up gear and dropping it on the square next to where he moves to block the entrance. Turn off autoloot, move to the square he will move to when you pick something up, then manually pick up and drop the goods to the other side. Repeat. Get outside the store limits this way, then go down one level and come back up - now he'll no longer aggro as soon as you try to leave the store.
    5. Hit up http://www.dredmorwiki.com/wiki/Crafting and realize that even without a skill point in Alch/Smith/Tinker you can still do useful stuff, e.g. for a melee fighter you can still make Regen potions, a basic good weapon and arrows galore.

Be advised this will likely be fixed next patch, but if you're like me and have somewhat flexible morals as regards some minor bugs/design issues then I don't really care. It's a single-player game, not like you're hurting anyone else. Have fun.

I hope they don't fix the item stealing 'trick' - I like to imagine that being able to steal items in this way is a slight nod to Link's Awakening on the Gameboy, lol.

Edit: Actually, they might not patch it - seems as if it's intended to allow the player to steal, since a punishment system is in place already. Also, yeah - since it's single player, it's hardly a gamebreaker if you're one of the more disciplined player who plays with morals / conducts :p

I do hope it's not a bug, and is somehow intended. Otherwise stealing is fairly impossible and pointless. (Yes, there's a skill for it in Burglary, but it's the most dangerous skill in the game... I'd never use it on a serious character :p)
